Cabin Fever set in hard today and I needed an escape. Spring has come to Alaska and it's time to get out an enjoy it so a drive down Turnagain Arm was in order. Got lucky on the way back and this juvenile Bald Eagle was literally hanging out in a tree on the side of the highway. Not often enough I get close enough for pictures like this.

Sweet.

I am seeing more eagles these days than I've ever seen in the past.

There are a couple/few bald eagles that I occasionally see around where I live in central Colorado. That was unheard of in my youth, or even 30 years ago. Protective measures, including public education, do sometimes actually work.

Living in southern California, I know and agree...it's a liberal shit-hole, I have always envied those of you who live where eagles abound, especially bald eagles. Well, my wife has gotten into photography and recently was told that there were a couple of bald eagles nesting at a lake just 5 miles away. On her first venture to the lake at mid-morning, she didn't have any luck finding them but a few days later on her second journey, early morning, she had her success.

Great shots of the Eagles OP. I love all raptors. They are the perfect predator in my opinion.
Here is a pic of a pair of Osprey I got some shots of a couple of years ago.

While fishing we acquired some spectators so threw a walleye on the shore. Didn't last long.

Thanks

Yesterday my wife saw one nail a duck. Wish'd I gotten a shot of that!
