^^^^ What’s the source/link of that image about Kimmel? That’s a made up quote. A quick investigation shows that he never said exactly that. He said the following, according to Grok, which is verified by multiple other sources:
Whether you’re on the left or the right, I despise people who take things out of context or twist the truth so to fit and advance their agenda. And President Trump is likely the number one victim of this tactic. The left gives us plenty of raw materials to work on, already. Why the need to fabricate things? As Charlie used to say, pove me wrong. Q

This is becoming all too common out here, local PD does their work to arrest someone, local-DA releases them under the well abused prosecutorial-privilege. Federal authorities waiting, re-arrest the person and get charged under federal statues where release on own recognizance is not allowed. ^^^^ Yeah, but the next question is, will the two major affiliates air the show? Disney can reinstate it all they want, but if the affiliates don’t carry it, whom will Kimmel be bitching to? Q
|
| Thank you Very little ![]() |
they aren't reinstating it without the affiliates agreement to air the show. My complaint is I don't watch him, never have, so I can't turn him off and reduce his numbers LOL

Indefinitely suspended apparently means 1 week but that doesn't mean all the affiliates will carry his show. Disney also probably thought they'd already lost conservatives with their woke movies and now were going to lose the liberal leaning viewers. They had to take some action so this is surprising. Disney also probably thought they'd get a boost in viewership by bringing him back, and perhaps that would kickstart the show. I'll be interested in hearing what Kimmel says. If he doesn't walk back his comments then he's toast and if he does, it will be seen as bending the knee. He'll say something because he's not the type to keep his mouth shut.

What so many people overlook or are simply ignorant of (either willing or not) is that the "free speech" so many banter about it is "in the public square", not the federally regulated airwaves. The corporations which use these public airwaves are not only beholden to the federal government but also to their shareholders. Content which offends their viewers has a knock-on effect which their advertisers may feel. Lost revenue to the networks affects their shareholders. If Kimmel and members of the View, for example, want to exercise their "freedom of speech" resign from the corporation which employs you and go out on the street and say anything you want.

At least the left can breathe easy with the knowledge that they have saved free speech. Letting the feces throwing monkey back out of the plexiglass cage will give them a lot of satisfaction.

Yes, you do have the 1st Amendment right to say whatever you please. However, there are some small exceptions (Ya can yell "FIRE" in a movie theater, but you'll get arrested if the place isn't on fire, there's not a smell of smoke... Slander, Libel, Assault...) Checking on the Constitution and the Amendments, I'm not seeing a "Right to employment". I think Disney is hoping their stock prices will rise is they bring Jimmy no-talent back. This message has been edited. Interesting... you could be right. But if so, it's a bad decision to intentionally only appeal to the far left. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

To get into the weeds, you can, and should, yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater if you believe there is a fire. You have the right to say or write that a particular person is a smelly fraudster if, in fact, he is a smelly fraudster. Free speech is the right to express your beliefs and opinions without government restrictions, but not to cause harm to others through untrue speech. The limitations on free speech are similar really to other enumerated freedoms. You have the natural right to keep and bear arms but not to commit armed robbery. You have the right to any religious belief but not the right to human sacrifices. The reason I pick this nit is that lefties like to use the exact same example of "FIRE" in a crowded theater to justify infringements on RKBA as being reasonable restrictions.

I hate that example as it is wrong. You can yell “FIRE!” in a movie theatre with absolute impunity if the place is actually on fire. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

I knew it wasn't going to be for long. He'll get a big jump in viewership the first couple of nights to see what else he is going to say. After that, it's back to the same old crap and viewership. "Even if the world were perfect it wouldn't be." ... Yogi Berra

I haven't watched a network (any network) show or sporting event in years. I used to watch NFL on Sundays. Not anymore. Too politically correct and golf is much more fun. More healthy too. Also, there are a lot of streaming choices. Jimmy is pretty much a dead man walking no matter how elated his "fans" are.
