It would seem that ABC didn’t want to be hauled into court again, and to be held accountable for falsities being said again. I guess they learned from the last time with George S and the payout they made.

The pendulum always swings the other way.
Those cool pieces of paper called the Constitution and The Bill of Rights are an awesome thing!
It affords us certain Unalienable Rights, one of which is "Free Speech". This is not to say that there isn't ramifications or consequences to these Unalienable Rights.
Say whatever you want to say! Hell, let your freak flag fly, high!
Now say something stupid while representing your employer, say something stupid while on the clock... Your employer may not just like what you said and fire your ass. Say something stupid as an employer or a business, people might just quit, call you out or not entertain your business.
Now, people are all butt-hurt because lil Jimmy no-talent went out and said some dumb shit and is now being held accountable. Well FUCK Jimmy and everyone that is shedding a tear for him.
And yes, the pendulum always swings the other way!
Right now that pendulum just happens to be swinging in OUR DIRECTION! And I am as pleased as punch about it.
How many years did we have to put up with the leftist / left wing / liberal bullshit being jammed down OUR throats. How many Conservatives have suffered the bullshit during the last decade or so? How many actors that were right leaning / conservative weren't being casted in roles? How many conservative businesses have had to "suffer the wrath" of the left?
I remember a baker not wanting to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple... Hmmm.... what happened to them?
How many people have been "cancelled" over the leftist bullshit?
Law Enforcement in the liberal areas are having oh-so-much fun right now navigating their way through bullshit policies in dealing with ICE / DHS and trying to, uuhhh... enforce the law.
How many Leftists / Liberals have taken actual shots at the Conservatives?
And the list goes on and on and on.
So yeah, the pendulum does seem to be swinging the other way after far too long.

Nobody ever said that Jimmy couldn’t say what he did. They said, “You can’t spout this bullshit here.”
Your precious time slot has been assigned to someone else, so sad, find another hobby.
If Jimmy wants to stand on a soapbox and yell garbage through a megaphone, knock yourself out. But that TV show? Not anymore…

bendableI didn't think that Kimmel's absence would have any affect at all in my day to day life.
But
At today's monthly meeting of the class of "58" ,four of the 8 in attendance spoke about it for nine minutes.
The major concern of the brief banter was what was being aired instead.
Not
The politics, not the financial, not the geographic, not the agendas of all involved.
It could have gone very uncomfortable very quickly.
But thankfully it did not.

It would be a shame if someone took her up on that and chose her.
Much preferable would be if there are actual charges that can be pressed against her for inciting violence and she gets time in the slammer for running her suck.

sigmonkeyThe 1st Amendment. "Freedom of Speech".
The most powerful part of that is: "You have the Right to Remain Silent..."
It is not, "You can say whatever you want."
And most importantly, there is no "Right to be listened to Right to an answer."
Why people do not understand this very base and important aspect is beyond me.
Certainly intended that one's thought's in words of how they feel about government and those that would use authority wrongfully against any person for their speech to include the written word at the time, was what the Founders had in mind.
And that those abusers be told they cannot/will not be permitted to use retribution for such speech, did not impose that upon people against people, and why a person that employs another does not have to "hear" another's bullshit.
It is a restriction on government, not the people.
So, individuals, do not have to suffer another's yammering, nor provide any answer.
So, if ABC (not a government entity) tells Jimmy Fuckface to pound sand somewhere else, well, Bye Jimmy, Speak your peice, walking.
Ignore all the whining, ain't nobody done nuthin' wrong.
As to the "violent talk" from the left.
They are doing their best to get someone to "strike back" physically in order to "rally to the dangerous people".
Hopefully, no one takes the bait*.
All things they have done, will disappear from the News Cycle in an instant, and be replaced by the "TEOODAWKI!!!" (The End Of
Our Democracy As We Know It!!!"
I don't see the whites of their eyes.

Lefty SigColbert, Kimmel, and most of their ilk are money sinkholes that spend more money than the adversing revenue they bring in. And now they are actively trying to drive away anyone that is still watching them that is not a leftist. It is way past time for the networks to start cleaning house and figuring out how to appeal to more viewers and become profitable in the late night time slot.
Guttfeld is killing them because he is funny and represents the great mass of center-right Americans.
Also it's time to reinstate the fairness doctrine for TV stations and networks. Force them to show both sides.

Pressure from the FCC probably played some role, but ABC has the assets to fight that in court.
What pulled the plug on Kimmel is the massive loss in revenue due to most of ABC affiliates telling ABC that they would not air the little fascist anymore.
Kimmel can say just about whatever he wants, no one has stopped him. What isn't guaranteed in the First Amendment is an audience for your BS, or that someone has to pay you to say it.

Of course "Even hateful speech is protected". If hateful speech is not to be protected, who determines what is hateful speech?
The leftist argument today is that people like Charlie Kirk engage in hateful speech and it is not to be protected.
That's exactly what is going on in the UK where they don't have a 1st amendment.
However, just because you have a right to speak, that doesn't mean you have a right to be heard.

Pam Bondi’s fatal error
By Bill Ponton
“There is free speech and then there is hate speech.”
With those ten words, Pam Bondi disqualified herself from holding office as the attorney general. In that moment, she sounded like every other young woman who does not know the meaning of free speech.
There is no exception for “hate speech” in the First Amendment. It states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Starting in the 1980s, the term “hate speech” first gained traction in universities, where campus speech codes were hotly debated. At the same time, self-anointed guardians of civil rights, like the Southern Poverty Law Center, started to bludgeon their critics with the term, labeling them as “haters”. Mainstream media was quick to adopt the phrase.
By the 1990s, it became a common term used in European and Canadian legal circles. What followed was the passage of laws prohibiting incitement to “hatred.” The U.S., because of its guarantee of free speech in the First Amendment, was spared.
With the rise of social media, the term “hate speech” became more prevalent. Its usage spiked in 2016 after the election of Trump, when Democrats started to call for a curtailment of what they deemed to be extremist rhetoric and misinformation. It reached the apogee of popularity as the Biden administration coerced online platforms to censor content that it found offensive and therefore “hateful.” With the acquisition of Twitter by Musk and the reelection of Trump, the plans of proponents of “hate speech” and their censorship have been set back.
It is because of this history of the term “hate speech” that I find Pam Bondi’s remark to be so egregious. I am not sure how Bondi could walk back her remark. It opened a window into her mind for us to see that she had completely internalized the concept.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Rick LeeI'd have a modicum of respect for Kimmel if he carries on his TDS and MAGA hate with a podcast or Youtube channel. But I suspect he'll just stay angry and blame everyone but himself for his show's cancelation.

He may really believe his own BS, but the reality is that ABC paid him to be a talking head and they encouraged him to be a propagandist for the Left. He and Colbert, Seth Myers, etc. have all been doing this for years. It isn't as if ABC/CBS/NBC have all just discovered what these puppets are saying.
He did ABC's bidding. Now he takes the fall for the backlash. The only shame is that ABC, sadly, will still survive and do what they do.
