gpbst3I don't fully believe Kimmel was taken off the air simply because of his statements on Kirk. It appears Nexstar needs the govt. approval for a large merger and may be trying to gain some favoritism from the White House.

sig sailorI am truly old! I can remember when Kimmel was a little funny. Not often, but once in a while.
How could he not know that his comments were going to bring him nothing but trouble.
Oh well, he hasn't been funny in a very long time, and his political crap just kept getting worse, Soooo AMF!

I've stopped counting.

rkentmThe left is trying to paint this purely as ABC submitting to Trump’s threats and calling it pure censorship. It all continues to backfire on them and they continue to become more and more desperately un-hinged.

Timdogg6Cancel culture is getting a little fun. It's certainly better than my not drinking Bud Light for like 2 years now.

I clearly remember both candidates being the targets of comedians.

Pipe SmokerChuckle. Obama the has-been whines.
“Former President Barack Obama has slammed his successor Donald Trump after Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show was canned.
The 44th president slammed ABC’s decision to pull ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ from the air after the network succumbed to pressure from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) over remarks Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk's murder.
‘After years of complaining about cancel culture,’ Obama wrote to his followers on X. ‘The current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.’ …”

2BobTannerAs Kurt Schlichter has stated a few times in his columns, the Left changed and abandoned the “old rules”, so don’t be surprised to see the “new rules” come back on them.

I'm confused. Hasn't Obama said that the spread of misinformation was a threat to democracy?
Isn't that what Kimmel did?

It’s different when they do it.

steve495Of course, they complain that the FCC boss "hinted" that they would punish them and restrict or fine them. "FIRST AMENDMENT VIOLATIONS," they scream. Somehow, Kimmel is the tipping point? The federal government has been doing this kind of stuff for decades.
Were liberals like Schumer bothered by....
- De-banking threats (Operation Choke Point)? .... Nope
- Regulators and HUD pushing banks to loosen credit under the Community Reinvestment Act, a big part of the 2008 housing crisis? .... Nope
- The Biden and Obama administrations working hand-in-hand with social media companies to deplatform conservative voices? .... Nope
- Obama threatening to defund colleges unless they adopt aggressive policies related to claimed sexual misconduct on campus? .... Nope
- Democrat administrations warning of regulatory scrutiny on oil companies of they do not jump on the "climate risk" bandwagon? .... Nope
- Regulators flagging firearms dealers as "high-risk" and strongly suggsting banks and processors could be investigated? .... Nope
- The FCC threatening broadcasters with fines and license scrutiny related to "live" shows that may end up breaking broadcast rules? .... Nope
OK, maybe they were, maybe they were not. But it does not matter. Again, Kimmel is all of a sudden the tipping point? We know why.... Get Trump!

No they aren't, as far as Kimmel he's being sacrificed by the very group he believed would stand behind him.
They all know he's done, and now he's the talking point to say "orange man bad". Once the story fades he'll be forgotten by them...
