parabellumnhracecraft, your account has been hacked
You need to contact me or someone else you know in the forum so we can verify your identity. Your email address has a forwarder on it and some asshole in Morocco was trying to sell a pistol under your name.

Pipe SmokerAre there any steps we should take to reduce the odds of having our accounts hacked?

parabellumChange your forum password, and change it to a long (at least a dozen characters, preferably 14 characters) and complex password (upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters).
Also, I'm thinking that your display email should different from your email address of registration.

nhracecraftJust seeing this thread now...Changes Implemented
ETA - For those reading this and wondering, my password was not overly simple, but then again, apparently not sufficiently complex; eight characters, and a mix of upper & lower case letters and numbers. It has been upgraded
Also, I was logged-in to the forum on multiple devices; 2 PC's (two different browsers on one of them!), two tablets and a phone. Everywhere I went, on all devices I tried, I was unable to access the forum at all, as I was locked out due to the password change when my account was hacked, followed by my 'attempts' to login. Subsequently, due to the email addresses being changed in my profile, I couldn't attempt to reset my password either as my email address(es) came up as 'No account was associated with that email address'. It 'almost' appeared as if my account/credentials have been removed from the system. I had to resort to the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the Login page, and sending an email as I was unable to view ANY page on SIGforum. I'm unsure if clearing my Browser History/Cache/Cookies would have at least allowed my to view the forum w/o being logged in, but I didn't think of that before contacting the 'webmaster'.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but what a headache! At this point, I'm fairly certain that it was only my SIGforum account that was compromised, but as a precaution, I've been changing passwords EVERYWHERE today!

92fstechInterestingly, it doesn't appear that they changed my password. Or if they did, it didn't log me out of my devices that were already logged in. I was able to get to my profile, change my password, post in the classifieds threads, and contact the users who posted in them. If they had changed my password and locked me out, all of that would have been much harder and more delayed...I'm surprised they didn't.
Sadly, today was my day off so I got up later and didn't check the forum as early as I would on a work day, so those fuckers had a few more hours for their posts to display before I saw them. I guess it could have been worse...a few weeks ago I was in Wyoming and completely offline for almost a week. I'd have never seen it.
