Okay, ground was tilled up. Seed planted. Topsoil spread out. Watered. Now we keep our fingers crossed and we wait to see if anything grows.

Quick update to those who were following and making suggestions, we have grass.

It has been starting to come up through the topsoil and is still thin but looking a lot better than what was there before.

Where I live we are able to run our irrigation system every day for 30 days(within the county aloud daily timeframe) after a new lawn is planted or new sod is installed so I can't wait to see my water bill for the month.

After the first 30 days are up I can water 3 times a week for the next 30 days then after that back to twice a week, hopefully that will get me to the rainy season.

According the news the last time we had any measurable rain in central Florida was February and even that is spotty.

In central Florida it can be downpouring a half mile up the road and the sun could be shinning at my house. As per my rain gauge, so far for the year we have had just over 6.5 inches of rain.

Once again thank you everyone for all the suggestions.

A quick suggestion. See if the County Agent runs a Landscaping class. Things are totally different in the Deep South rather than the North in which I previously lived. It is an undeutilzied service.
