Have you turned on your heat?
We've had the heat on, on-and-off, for a month. It was a weird summer. Almost like desert temps: Where it'd get hot enough during the daytime to need A/C and cool enough at night to need heat.

It's been on heat only for a week or so.

No, but I started opening the sliding glass door and just leaving the screen door closed just today.

Ours has been on & off. Overnight temps have been in the low 40's with a few nights in the 30's, but daytime temps usually go up to the 60's. I can usually hold off on firing up the wood stove until mid-November.

Earlier this week. I blew out our sprinkler lines the day-before-yesterday.

Just one day so far. We had some cold, rainy weather the beginning of the week and we needed to warm up the house a bit.
Probably will have to turn it on in another week or so.

Have you turned on your heat?

Oh, hell yes! Turned it on about 3 weeks ago.

Early this past week we had to. Or, rather, the wife couldn't hold out. It was down to 59 in here one morning. I'm OK with that, but she's not.

Our house rule is no heat until November. Pretty easy in these parts. Lowest so far has been around 68 and I can get by with outside overnight temps in the mid 40's. It usually warms up pretty fast once the sun comes up, but it does make it hard to climb out of bed.

I did a week ago for a few days but off again now. Had been running AC pretty much since May

Mother Nature threw that switch from HOT to COLD in an instant

We’ve now gone from an unusually hot summer and early fall to an unusually cool fall, I can’t keep up.

Weather has been amazing in Georgia for a couple weeks now. Another beautiful weekend ahead with lows in the 40's and highs in the 70's.

I live in central Florida so my answer would be no.
We have seen some very pleasant temperatures in the evenings but nothing to cold to need heat at this time.
There have been some years we have never turned the heat on.

Yes, but not for the reason you think.

It was a low outside of 46, high projected today of 64. I flipped it on for 30 minutes, working fine, turned it back off.

Everybody I know, for years, always tried to get the bragging rights for being the last to turn on the furnace. And, we assume they're honest, but whatever.

Me? I learned many years ago, turn that darn thing on a little early, and make sure it works!!! Learned this from a bad experience, so to speak. If the wife isn't warm, she's not happy, and I'm not gonna be happy as a result.

It's not fun to wait til it's darn cold, turn it on, and it doesn't work!!!

So yeah, I'm the wimpy contrarian, or maybe not, but it's a pain in the elbow to suddenly start calling all the HVAC repairmen trying to get somebody out to fix it when it's darn cold. They're all busy than a 2-peckered billy goat.

I reckon I get the last laugh.

I'm right there with you!

Except for this year. Two weekends ago it was downright chilly in the house -- to the point of uncomfortable. I caved.

Ran the heat for about three days, and haven't run it since. "Nothing is constant but change," they say....

Waiting for it to drop below 62 is when I turn the heat on for the cats. Basically if a cat sneezes, it's time to turn the heat on. The husky loves it cold. The kids don't get a say.
