Correct. They are apart of the Dept of the Air Force.

The USAF used to have three separate headquarters staffs, one of them the Office of Space Operations, is now its own separate service and it's head reports to the Sec of the AF, and has a seat on the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Because of the overall specialty of USSF, it's members can maintain its currency without having to go play Air Force games while also cultivating its own pipeline.
