What exterior wireless home cameras to buy?
After being down the rabbit hole all morning I think KevH has the right idea.
For someone not already heavily invested in a different system, a tp-link/Tapo H500 hub and which ever cameras (up to 16) meet your specific need is an ideal starting point.
It comes with 16Gb of storage and can be expanded up to 16Tb. With the local storage you don't need to pay for a cloud subscription. It also acts as a hub for automation. Unfortunately it doesn’t support Zigbee or Zwave but it does support Matter protocols.

I went with a ring doorbell, two outdoor Ring camera's, one each at side door and back door. I did not want to drill holes and fish wires for power, battery change is no big deal to me.
