Should buy a Judge. Judge is more helpful than a governor. Q

No one will probably talk you out of a gun…lol. I do own a Taurus Judge. I only carry it when I go to my land to be able to carry it on me and loaded with .410 in case of a venomous snake I can’t get away from. I wouldn’t shoot a snake unless I absolutely had to. Of course I am also always carrying my normal firearm for anything else. Only advantage to the Governor I see is the one extra round capacity and I guess the choice to load with .45 ACP. Just buy it already…lol! NRA Benefactor Life Member

I'd rather have a 44 Mag or a 44 Special if buying a DA revolver. 45 Colt if buying an SA revolver. Trust me on this one.

Normally I'd be the last to talk somebody out of buying a gun, but in this case...I'd say don't do it. It's big and clunky, and doesn't do anything for you that you can't do with a .44 or .45 shotshell out of a much more practical gun.

One of my neighbors has one. Shot it six times and can't carry it due to its size / bulk. Tries to sell it to me cheap. No, just no! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I can’t think of many guns I’d say not to get, but that’s one of them. Just don’t see the point at all. Big, awkward, clunky, and better off with a better caliber. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

Practically it needs a longer barrel. Ever seen one of those or a Judge pattern .410 shot? Rifling does a .410 shot shell no favors, and the relatively short barrel only exacerbates the situation. Shooting slugs is somewhat pointless even IF you can find them when two .45 options already exist for the gun, with one of them (.45LC) still in relatively short supply from ammo manufacturers. So in light of all that...can I interest you in a 1911? -MG

As long as you're buying a new safe, might as well get a Rossi Circuit Judge too Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.

It all depends on what your uses are. For a ccw gun, obviously you are going to have issues with it's size. For an all around gun-home defense or small critter protection, it is a great gun to have. I have one that I bought at a great price online and it is actually not all that large. I debated on getting the Judge but with Taurus' q.c. and c.s. what it seems to be now,(have had a couple Taurus guns with issues and time delays are insane), I went with the Governor. The nice thing about the Judge is you can shoot 3" 410 rounds but I don't know if you would want to as they are a handful and the S&W can only shoot 2.5". The ability to use 45 acp in the Governor, really stuck with me as now it can be used as an even more versatile gun for h.d. and smaller shot rounds for critters. I am not sure if I will ever shoot 45 long colt through it, as it is quite a powerful round and I don't reload and the cost of the rounds is pretty steep.
