I've used it for tendonitis and didn't think it was helping until I stopped taking it. It seems to take a couple months before it builds up enough to help but it does seem to help me.

I can tell you it worked wonders for my dog. So no placebo effect there. He was getting around much better and jumping on the bed again which he hadn't done in a long time. made a huge difference in his movement Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

Thanks again for the replies. Everybody’s body is different so who knows if it’ll work, but I’m going to try it. I already eat NSAID’s like Pez plus an RX pain killer, it would really be nice to be able to back off those some. "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

I found Chondroitin and Glucosamine effective, but I found Turmeric even more effective. "America is at that awkward stage. Nothing with the word "chondroitin" on the bottle did anything for me at all. I've been taking 1500mg "Twinlab" brand glucosamine sulfate daily for over 10 years (I'm 52) and while I can't say I'm not experiencing the placebo effect whatever it is I have virtually no joint pain at all and still use my treadmill and exercise bike a good deal, though my treadmill use has decreased due to the strain it puts on my legs and feet in general. I rarely take pain medication. I'm a convert. The stuff is not cheap ($30 a bottle) but I'm going to keep taking it. I did start taking it before I had any real joint issues (just some slight pain). I don't know if it would work as well if I already had serious joint-related problems and then started on it.

The wife and I are both absolutely convinced it helps. I take it for my shoulders, one has a repaired rotator cuff and the other was crushed in a motorcycle accident and for arthritis in my neck. When I first tried it years ago my Doctor said it was BS and any benefit was just a placebo effect, but now I see science is beginning to reverse their opinion and now admit it does seem to be helpful for some people. What I find interesting is that after a couple of months I can stop taking it for 3 to 6 months and retain the relief I gained. When my symptoms return I get back on it and get relief within a couple weeks. We use this from Walmart... about a buck a day. Get two bottles to try, the effects take 2 or three weeks to kick in. Contents listed below. I think it tastes kind of like Prune juice. I take 1oz morning and night for two days to start and then 1oz per day as recomended from then on. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nat...luid-Ounces/10316531 Glucosamine 2,000mg Chondroitin 1,200mg Hyaluronic Acid 10mg MSM 500mg > Fast Absorbing Liquid helps you get back to enjoying your favorite activities. > Extra Strength 2,000mg Glucosamine with Chondroitin, MSM and Hyaluronic Acid. > Vitamin D3 to promote healthy bones/muscle function.* > Easy 1oz Daily Dose beats swallowing tablets. I have been taking Glucosomine/Chondroitin for about 7 years. Two noticeable areas of improvement: my left knee "clicked" all of my life until I started G/C. It was never painful, but annoying. With G/C still no pain but also no click. I bunged up my left shoulder kayaking 35 years ago, taking GC there is no pain. In fact I am 63 and have no joint pain or issues. G/C? Maybe, maybe not but I will keep taking it. My doc asked whether I thought it helped. I answered yes. He said keep taking it if I want, no proof it works, no downside problems. If it is a placebo effect, it's a pretty good one for me. Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

I believe in the principle of Due Process |
I saw Joint Juice highly recommended by the SEAL guys I swam with in Coronado. These are older guys, retired, same model year but a lot more miles, etc. They swore by the stuff. My wife and I started taking it. She still does and claims it helps her piano playing fingers. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Well, I was having extreme knee pain a couple years ago. Couldn’t even finish a walk with the dog it hurt so much. Started taking Osteo Bi-flex. Within a few week, pain was gone. It’s a good supplement, and I believe it works. Have just heard from a good friend of mine too, she was getting arthritis pain in her hands and started taking turmeric curcumin daily. Her arthritis pain went awa6 after a couple weeks. She swears by that for arthritis pain. So, if the glucosamine doesn’t work, try the turmeric curcumin. Good luck.

This was my experience also, tried them for a month. Only thing found that works to date is Hydra-cone in a small continual doses. Have had Osteoarthritis for the past 40 years. Celebrex did work for quite awhile.

Works for me. Glucosamine Chondroitin & MSM, Turmeric, and Hyaluronic Acid. All pills. Take them every couple of days.

You are correct. As a runner I've been taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin (with MSM) for years. Mentioning this to my dad's doctor was met with a "Meh. Glucosamine is a mild lubricant and chondroitin is made from shark cartilage. It won't hurt you, but there are better lubricants than gluc." So be it. I've had pretty healthy knees for years, until I tore a meniscus. I still it as a force of habit. I'm not going to jump on a soapbox and scream it's the cure-all for joint problems. You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. NRA Benefactor/Patriot Member

Has definitely helped me with chronic pain in my hands years ago, and in my feet in the last year. Did nothing for my lower back issues, not unexpected as I have stenosis but not joint problems in my lower back.

Eye on the Silver Lining |
Thank you for your info. I’ll look into this brand. I’ve just started grating turmeric roots and ginger and making a shot out of it in the morning, but I’d rather have a reliably sourced powder. There are so many products out there, and not enough consistency regarding content. I noticed last year my knees started clicking, but no pain. This year I started to notice mild pain climbing stairs. It’s time to nip this in the bud. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."
