the wife really like the new full Size Bronco. Does anybody have any experience with them? Really concerned with reliability and build quality. I really want to replace our aging Forrester with a Mazda CX5 bur she wants a convertible that our therapy dog(big ass GSD) can ride in and he doesn't fit in the Miata. I really want one, but have been wary of reliability and finish concerns also. I see a lot of people selling them shortly after getting them in my area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The trouble with our Liberal friends...is not that they're ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so." Kinda of interested in this vehicle too. Had a Bronco II years ago and liked it. Just with the current recent apocalypse and current market that evolved with shortages, market manipulation by dealers and manufacturers ~ I have been reluctant to pursue. Maybe things have changed but the design is interesting. If the model isn't holding up value or otherwise I would be glad to hear some of these stories.

I think a couple members here have them, but can't recall who. My wife really wanted one, just based on looks. She didn't care for the Wrangler we test drove back in 2018, and I ensured her it wouldn't be significantly [I assumed] different than that. She ended up with an Expedition Max, and we ought a Midget for our open top fun. Other than the shortage of hard tops, some programming issues with the dip windows (dips down when opening the frameless doors) I don't recall reading anything glaring. I had the 2.7 TTV6 (6spd) in my F150 & it never missed a beat, and now have the 2.3 I4T (10spd) in my Explorer & it does great for a commuter. The Enemy's gate is down.

My in-laws had one as a rental last year and I didn't care for the tight feel of the inside, the seats felt really narrow to me.

In case you decide to take the non-convertible route - We do not have a ‘New Bronco’ but my wife and I just spent A LOT of time over the last four or five weeks test-driving a replacement for our 2005 Honda Pilot with almost 220K miles on the clock. We test drove what all major (non-luxury) brands have to offer in large (not Suburban large), medium and smaller SUV’s (i.e.; Hyundai Palisade, Santa Fe and Tuscon). We wound up choosing a Honda Passport TrailSport because it offered a nice ride, excellent cabin and cargo space, decent enough technology, expected driver’s safety features and a reasonable price which was not “market price adjusted” at all (whereas Kia and Hyundai felt that their vehicles are worth adding $5K - $10K to). Both Kia and Hyundai have very impressive and more modern touch-screens and electronics to offer, like side view mirror cameras that display on the dashboard and some magical ‘live’ birds-eye view above the vehicle, but that was not a necessity for us. The Nissan Rogue was very nice all around but it has super-charged in-line 3-banger which I have hesitations around long-term reliability and fully loaded up highway cruising. We did not test-drive Toyota’s because in our area new and used specimens were non-existent, especially new, and the prices on used Highlander’s and RAV4’s were ridiculous. Good luck. __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy."

One of the guys from my BJJ Academy likes his. He's had it for around a year. Didn't really get into details on trim level or what ever. Train how you intend to Fight Remember - Training is not sparring. Sparring is not fighting. Fighting is not combat.

Yeah Bronco is no longer a model it is now a brand. It’s now the same as saying I want a Cadillac. Ok which one. You can buy a Bronco or a Bronco Sport. The Bronco sport is basically a reskinned Escape. Under the Bronco brand you can buy these models. Base Big Bend Black Diamond Outer Banks Badlands Wildtrack Raptor Heritage Heritage Limited

Good to know, thought it was the same 2.7TTV6 that's in the F150 & the Fusion/Edge Sport/ST The Enemy's gate is down.

Told cops where to go for over 29 years… |
I bought mine July of last year. Coming up on 10,000 miles.
Other than a larger oil pan, my understanding is the 2.7L is the same as the “Gen 2” 2.7L TT V6 used in 2018 and up F-150s. I browsed a pretty extensive thread in one of the forums where this was discussed in great detail. I’ve had zero issues with mine (2022 Outer Banks, Lux, Soft top 2.7L). I traded my 2019 Ranger and 2017 Mustang GT convertible for it and have never had a second thought. Easiest vehicle I have worked on when it comes to adding things like lights, HAM radio, swapping out the front bumper, trailer hitch, etc. I ditched the OBX running boards and stock highway tires/wheels (32”/18”) for Badlands take off rock sliders tires/wheels (33”/17”). I also have takeoff Sasquatch shocks sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. There has certainly been some ”issues” with them, but given the whole Covid thing I wouldn’t expect anything less. , The majority of folks I’ve interacted with have been happy with theirs and I haven’t come into direct contact with anyone who has had a problem. Figure 98 out of 100 people with a problem with post it everywhere and maybe 10 out of 100 happy campers might. A big part of folks selling shortly after receiving was to profit off the secondary market. Folks waited in line and got them locked in at MSRP when lots of folks were paying $10-$20K over for “used” ones depending on trim and options. I ended up paying about $2K over sticker getting someone’s abandoned order at my local dealer. Lots of folks have bought used ones while waiting for their ordered ones to be built. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many families/couples with “His and Hers” vehicles as I have with the Bronco. Yes the “Sport” is based on the Escape platform. Look at the 1st Gen Escapes though - they were basically a mini-Explorer so one could argue the Escape has returned to its roots. My wife has a 2018 Escape and it has been bullet proof so far. She is eyeing the “Baby” Bronc and we may end up with one of them as well. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

Wait, what? |
I know someone that was offered several thousand dollars over what they paid for one they day they went to pick it up so the dealer could do just that. Contractually, they were prohibited from selling over invoice but a used Bronco (as in used for about 30 seconds) was fair game. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

The Ford dealers here sell over invoice all the time. They call it dealer premium or somesuch BS. Told the guy where he could stick that, and next time the market crashes they can give me an equal customer premium discount. Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day
