Post from Evan Nappan, gun rights lawyer:

“I wouldn't be surprised if the House votes to censure President Trump instead of impeach. This would stop the Senate trial on impeachment. There would be no trial in control by Senate Republicans. No witnesses like Shifty Schiff, the whistleblower, Biden, etc. could be called. No exoneration of the President in the Senate could take place. It's the smart move, but who says they're smart.“

I wonder how many people see little Schiffty Schiff and see a "Little Joe Stalin" wannabe?

He may appear to be a pencil-necked geek, but the pure evil that emanates from his mouth is alarming.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I don't think its about garnering a majority to pass the issue. I think a whole lotta Dem's watched this fiasco Schiff put on and know it bombed. As such, they do not want to vote to impeach and potentially end their political careers. Pelosi winning this vote with anything short of 100% of her caucus voting 'yes' will be viewed as a failure, and she knows it. I think she's really looking for a way out of voting on this. However, the flip side of this issue is that the lunatic left may revolt if there is no vote. Pelosi and the Dem's have really backed themselves into a corner from which there is no escape.

Something doesn't seem right. Schiff supposedly has all this control over these hearings. He gets to depose all these witnesses behind closed doors before the public televised hearings. Yet in the public hearings the Republicans very easily gets each and everyone of these witnesses to admit Trump did nothing wrong.

He controls who the Republicans can call as witnesses but why do they need to call anyone? Schiff witnesses have been better for the exoneration for Trump than anyone they could call. The prosecutions own witnesses saying the defendant didn't do it, how does it get any better than that?

Are these witnesses saying one thing in the closed door hearing and then when under oath and the tv cameras on they are afraid to perjure themselves for what Schiff wants them to say?

I just find it hard to conclude the Democrats are just this incredibly stupid. But as they say truth is stranger than fiction.

nothing brings a smile to my face first thing in the morning than the possibility of democrats digging themselves deeper into the the pile of Schiff they've created

but what would bring tears of joy is to see the retaliation against them start for the three years of sedition - brutal and absolute retaliation

That happened as soon as they adopted the position of getting rid of Trump at any cost. If they'd had any sense they would have gone about the House's business during the whole Mueller fiasco and just let it play out. Handled the Mueller report as a matter of business without all the hoopla, quietly let it drop when it was found to be a nothingburger, and gone back to getting done the business of the People. But, no: They got it in their minds they had to bring down Trump, regardless the cost.

This latest is just another instalment in a continuing series of shooting themselves in the foot.

They had to pursue this when the Mueller thing fell flat on its face and the have to garner 100% of Democrats to vote in favour of impeachment.

It's their last hope--as futile as it is.

No, Schiff has always reminded me of the Golum character in Tolkeins "Lord of the Rings" movie, in appearance & actions. He's just a deceitful, slimy, little creature, that you automatically despise at first sight.

What sdy said. I just saw your post.

Additionally, they dropped it before the close of the hearing as required by the rule.

Pelosi will have to respond, ignore it or engage in more pretext to deny fair, longstanding minority rights.

No matter what she does, it's bad for Democrats and gives other Dems a reason to jump ship.

How can the House function if they destroy even the simplest form of debate?
Why not just make a rule that if Dems control the House, Republicans are on furlough?

This will not set well with voters or Dems that lived before cancel culture destroyed the idea of an exchange of ideas.

It puts Pelosi in a deservedly tough spot.

It lets Republicans appeal to Dems on the basis of the House not following their own rules.
Or, alternatively, it let's Republicans call their own witnesses.

Either way, its bad for the Schiffshow that's rushing to beat the IG.

Like the Gong Show, Adam's been stinkin' up the stage for too long and it's time for the hook.

I think the play was strategically timed for maximum impact.

I hope other Republicans are paying attention: Stefanik raised a half a million dollars in two hours after her performance yesterday! I will be sending her a donation. I hope she raises many millions.

https://www.breitbart.com/poli...less-than-two-hours/

In other news, I saw Sessions on Tucker last week, and Tucker handled him gently-- mentioned his recusal and let it go at that. Last night he was on with Martha McCallum, and she made him squirm. She said that "many people" thought that Sessions' recusal opened the door for the special prosecutor, Mueller's extended probe, followed by the switch to "obstruction" instead of "collusion," and now Ukraine-- in other words, his recusal lead directly to the whole two year long debacle. "Trump has said that if you do run for the senate in Alabama, he will attack you."

*jab* *smack* *wallop*

Sessions said that if he is elected, he will be Trump's strongest supporter! Really! heh-heh Honest!"

Embarrassing.

Just to re-post this link for donation to Stefanik:https://secure.winred.com/EliseStefanik/fightschiff

Yes, because that is another process they can initiate and drag out as long as possible. Their whole idea for the past almost three years has been to surround Trump with trouble like a cloud... so that every day the commie press is talking about something negative.... And the hope is that the American people will get so tired of this that they will think Trump needs to go just for this crap to end.

Not gonna happen.

Got a letter today from Melania Trump (Republican National Committee), requesting funds.
Anybody care to give odds that the socialist committees will twist this into solicitation for immoral purposes! Razz

Historian: Trump ‘one of America’s great presidents,’ impeachment no ‘scar’

President Trump should be considered one of America’s “greatest presidents” for his achievements so far despite the impeachment drive that in the end, will be viewed as a partisan attack similar to the Russia collusion charge, according to a New York Times best-selling historian and presidential adviser.

“Donald Trump should easily be ranked as one of America’s great presidents,” writes Doug Wead in his upcoming book, Inside Trump's White House: The Real Story Of His Presidency, a copy of which was shared with Secrets today.

In listing Trump’s efforts on the economy, in foreign policy, and presidential communications, Wead argued that the president’s legacy won't be destroyed by impeachment because it showed that he was under Democratic attack from the start yet still accomplished his agenda.

“It is very possible that the preposterous Russian collusion story has successfully inoculated Donald Trump from any new scandals that the impeachment process can uncover. While Russian collusion was meant to be a knockout blow, it may, in the end, be his key to political survival,” wrote Wead, an adviser to both Bush presidencies and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

In a note, he also told Secrets, “I am not saying that he won't be impeached. Rather I am saying that impeachment will not be the scar on his legacy as it otherwise would be if it weren't for the failed attempt to tar him with Russian collusion.”

Wead, the author of several historical books, was granted exclusive access to the White House as Trump’s official biographer. Inside, he witnessed the workings of the Oval Office and key aides, including Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

He has been the target of several pre-publication death threats that he said the FBI believes are from anti-Trump activists.

The book, published by Center Street and due for a Tuesday release, dismissed several false claims made about the Trump inner circle and highlighted the wins that much of the media has shoved aside in the coverage of Russian collusion, the Mueller report, and impeachment.

Doug Wead @DougWead

I have received multiple anonymous death threats that also targeted my children because of my new book, #InsideTrumpsWhiteHouse. @realDonaldTrump https://www.washingtonexaminer...rapher-for-fair-book

Wead told Secrets, “based on the remarkable economy alone, Trump has been an outstanding president. Almost everything that social engineers and liberal politicians have wanted has come true for the poorest of the poor in our country and to every previous disenfranchised group of people. One must ask how he was able to see what every great economists in the world had missed? Was it luck? Was getting elected luck? Was creating jobs luck? Was he lucky in bringing back hostages that other presidents had left languishing in foreign prisons? Was defeating ISIS so easily, just luck?”

While it appears clear that House Democrats are pushing ahead with impeachment despite several polls showing less support for it, Wead took a longer view in arguing that Trump’s historical legacy will be good.

Citing the president’s economic record, Wead wrote, “Future historians who wipe away the dust of collective bias will see those numbers etched in stone and will be able to judge without contemporary emotion. If presidents are partly ranked as strong or weak based on their personal intelligence, then surely Donald Trump’s ability to see what the greatest economists in the world could not see is an example of remarkable insight.”

He even suggested that after Trump leaves office, Americans will one day wish he could return, as they have for other once scorned presidents, including George W. Bush. He suggested that one day cars will be adorned with bumper stickers that read, “Give us back our Trump.”

Wead quoted Kushner on that point. He wrote:

“Jared Kushner talked about that on that cold January night in 2019, when my wife and I visited him and Ivanka in their Georgetown home. The fireplace was ablaze, and Jared and Ivanka were on the couch opposite us. ‘There will come a day,’ Jared mused, ‘when people will miss him greatly. He goes for the big thing, and he gets it done. Nobody can keep up with the spirit in which he leads.”
