Yes. I believe the referral for charges went to a federal prosecutor in DC for McCabe. And apparently they looked in the super secret copy of "laws of the swamp" and found that he did not violate any.

Hmm.
And to add to that, wasn’t mueller part of the mop up of the Boston fbi after John Connelly was indicted.

FBI, yea a highly regarded law enforcement organization...a real standard.

. . . the special agent appears to have retired while the investigation was pending. It is unclear whether his pension will be affected by the dismissal.
Make up your mind - retired or dismissed?

In 2010 (two years after I'd retired from law enforcement), I formed the belief that one or more FBI agents had through deliberate intent or gross negligence failed to follow up on a viable lead which I'd provided regarding a serial murderer the FBI had the responsibility to locate and arrest on outstanding warrants. I contacted the local office of the FBI and requested a contact number for their equivalent to an "Internal Affairs" office and was provided a Washington DC telephone number which I called and learned had been disconnected. I went to the FBI website and found an entire page on "Insuring Accountability and Compliance", that described the "Office of Professional Responsibility" and how it ensured accountability of the agency. As you can see (in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage) the Director of the FBI at the time, is quoted as saying, "The greatness of an institution can be measured by the strength of its internal investigations."

The name of the FBI Director attributed to the above quotation was Robert S. Mueller, III. I'm attaching a copy of the webpage (sorry its so small) so members can view it. Note that nowhere on the page or anywhere else on the site at the time, was either a telephone number, email address, or link to the Office of Professional Responsibility.

Some years ago a number of college placement centers noted the FBI was hiring more and more "accounting" types (I teach college acct). The reason given was that an increasing portion of the FBI workload involved forensic auditing, looking for fraud. Maybe that's why they didn't follow up, they all had a background of debits and credits. Wink

The fact that they didn't follow up was bad enough. I was able to track down the Supervisory Agent on the task force responsible for finding this fugitive and made available to him the electronically recorded telephone conversation I had with the agent, when I'd provided the information he (the supervisor) denied records of. He refused to accept this recording or to initiate an investigation regarding my complaint.

What kind of local or state law enforcement agency has this kind of blatant disregard for citizen's complaints? Keep in mind, that the Department of Justice through the FBI actually investigates other law enforcement agencies for their failures to investigate complaints from citizens!

The DOJ needs to get its ass kicked and then clear house from top to bottom, otherwise this nonsense is going to continue. At the moment, it’s the Dept of DC Injustice.

Out of curiosity I went to the FBI's website and looked for a phone number for the Office of Professional Responsibility.

Didn't find it, but the "Contact Us" page does have two mentions of Obama.
Just found it interesting.

FBI Headquarters Contact Us

My belief is the Deep State runs deep in the FBI and DOJ.
Obama formed the FBI and DOJ into a branch of the Democratic Party.

Corruption at the top with sympathetic underlings.
