armoredImprovments to my backyard range. update FINISHED
I just helped my son build a 100 yard range at his house. Your pictures help me see additions to his range in the future.
Keep posting.

EdmondThat's living the dream right there. Maybe someday I can achieve a set up like that.

rsboloThat is a dream setup. I know there are several members here who have places of their own to shoot. I think that's the coolest asset.
I live on a lake and enjoy the water views and activities that go along with it. My little two acres and its location precludes anything but pellet guns.
I think my next habitation will have mountain views, less humidity, and enough land to safely shoot out to 100 yards.

HRKNice job it looks great, look forward to seeing it with the roof, the brass catcher idea sounds good.
How about a harbor freight solar panel so you have some electricity for lights, coffee pot, or whatever you might need a little power for..

41That is nice but I would put an overhead reflector on the dirt mounds to catch the bullets as they will tumble over the mound.
The Loudoun Izaak Walton League had a range where a person built a house that was maybe 200 yards away at a 45 degree angle. They had to shut the range down and rebuild due to bullets leaving the dirt mound.
You could go 25 yards behind the mound and find bullets laying all over the ground.

Those are good points. With the way my range is set up its actually a pretty good down hill slope and bullets that go over the berm hit about 15 yards back. For my 200 yard targets I'd like to stack a bunch of tires and fill em with dirt. I've had many trees been shot down from bullets that missed the mark. I do own a good ways beyond these targets and there are no houses for miles.
As for the Bench.. well someone else paid for all the lumber I do the work and own the land. I mainly stand and shoot too, mostly pistol, yes even out to 200 yards.
