I played guitar starting out at about 10 years old. My parents purchased my first electric guitar, A dual pickup Sears Silvertone with the amp in the case. I'm confident most here know what I'm talking about. My folks paid and took me to and from lessons for a couple of years. I was very fortunate growing up that in a small area of 4 residential blocks we had 7 guitar players. Some went on to record music and most played out of enjoyment. Almost every day as a ritual I would go across the street to my friend Garys house and we'd jam for hours with sometimes as many as 4 or 5 players including their band. In the years to follow we'd drive to the beach and play our acoustics where we'd connect with many other musicians in areas local to Coconut Grove Miami back in those days. Most of us accumulated many guitars to include acoustics as well as electrics and tons of amps and various gear. I played with so many over the years.Lot's of excellent guitar players with so many different styles and types of music. It was an addiction, practice, practice, and more practice getting those riffs and lead runs down. I had my share as many others here I'm sure, of the classics, Les Pauls, Strats, Martins, luckily I scored a few vintage ones in the mix as well. Unfortunately due to a stroke affecting my deficit side I cannot play these days, I can't even feel the strings or they have a very grating feel to them, nor the strength. Thats life, it gives and takes. I'll always have the great memories and a few good photos of past gear to last me. I wish you well, it's a great journey enjoy it! Regards, Will G. | |||
