Maybe one of the early V6s. They haven't been made in several years. Major engine parts may not be available still.

Well good news out of all of this, I have learned that it is not the head gasket it is the lower intake gasket so they will be replacing both the lower and upper gaskets. Lesson learned- follow the warranty requirements to a T if you let the inspections go past the required mileage say goodbye to the warranty. The bad and I guess good news is I believe there will be a new Rubicon somewhere in the near future. My argument that we have a lifetime warranty on the powertrain no longer works. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

I have a friend with an '07 (?) Jeep on it's 3rd engine, gone bad and replaced twice under warranty. But if you don't jump through all the hoops along the way, you're SOL as you found out. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

The 3.6 in the newer ones is pretty good, but the 3.8 that came in 07 is a garbage motor. Lots and lots of 3.8s die early deaths with no abuse. Do a google search for Jeep 3.8 dead, and there is no shortage of reading material. "The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."
