We have YTTV and generally are happy with it but I was wondering if there was any better alternatives for that price or lower? We pay $77 a month now for it.

I know DirecTV has a streaming TV service, are there any others that may be an option?

what channels / networks are you interested in?

The answer is different if you just want to watch old episodes of Gunsmoke as compared to if you need live MLB games, etc.

When I was comparing, the only thing I considered and/or liked was HULU.
Didn't go with either (still may though) but cost were similar.

All the major networks like YTTV has plus local channels would be good.

Wife and I rotate frequently. Hulu, Netflix, peacock and similar. We run a few months then switch- works out pretty well.

Not talking about those streaming services here, I have some of them already

I'm talking about internet TV; basically having all the TV channels you'd have with a cable box but it's via the internet and not a dish or coax cable.

I have FUBO. I have no problems with it. Not sure what we pay as it's on my wife's account. But the only reason I switched from YouTube TV years ago was they stopped carrying our local sports station NESN. Without it I can't watch Bruins games.

These go to eleven.

Streaming channels TV and Internet TV all rely upon one thing, having a quality Internet provider. In my rural section of the Jefferson County, Kentucky, I do NOT have that luxury.

The Jefferson County Metro Council has undertaken an initiative with AT&T and Spectrum to expand high-speed telecommunications services county-wide. This initiative has been ongoing for over THREE YEARS, with the CoVid debacle for work-from-home and non-traditional public school instruction driving home the urgency.

The more heavily populated URBAN areas got it first, and then came the suburbs. My section of the rural area will be the LAST one to be upgraded, as we are few and far between in population with no housing developments in the planning as we don’t have sewers (septic only for minimum of 5 acre tracts); thus a lower priority area.

I refuse to purchase any additional streaming programming, so I’ll stick with my SatTV receiver box.

I decided to drop cable. Bought an antenna, ran the line from the TV to the attic, tested it, it worked. Awesome, I'm going to use cable savings to pay for my new TV. Buy TV, it comes with free built-in cable, didn't even need the antenna.

At $80 a month you might want to check out Samsung's new TVs and see what channels are included in SamsungTV. I get a bunch of movie channels, a number of regular cable channels, news channels, and I think locals too? I use the antenna for locals, but I believe they are included?

I have had the DirecTV service over the internet for over 5 years. It costs me $100/mo. I get like 300 channels and unlimited on line DVR. It works really well and I never have to watch commercials. It plays thru an Amazon Firestick remote control.
