Pretty friggin' eerie and I believe China is "in it to win it" at ANY and all cost... Have a listen: https://ontherightsideradio.co...were-in-a-recession/ "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

China is in it to win and plays the long game. From 2011 to 2019 I was in China a lot and saw the changes first hand. COVID suspended my travel but I am still well connected. Most of what you see in the media is wrong, on both sides. Republicans do themselves a disservice by spreading fake news about China. The CCP does not control every company in China and "slave labor" doesn't exist in the manner they imply. China is a command capitalist country. Might even fit the old definition of fascist. But they are not Communist. Unless you understand your adversary, you will fail to compete...

Generally agree with Lefty: 1. PRC is in it for the long game, trying to make it shorter. They have been for centuries with interruptions in their plans here and there. Make no mistake, they are culturally in it to win it. World domination for them is not a 21st century concept. 2. I would also characterize them as largely capitalist at this point. Korea is somewhat similar. I think both are largely ruled by the political and business (ie - chaebol) elite. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." Visited on business multiple times. Not communist. Did not like being there. Like my colleagues. I am so tired of the game of Global Thermonuclear War. Or RISK. With real countries. I would rather live on a farm in 1890 in rural east Tennessee sometimes. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

No, South Korea is not "similar" to China. I've spent a lot of time there as well, including the election when a woman was put in charge. Not sure why 4MUL8R did not like being there. China is still the "wild west" in many ways. The juxtaposition of the old traditional culture with the modern is interesting to see, and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Most people I work with prefer going to China to going to India.

China has a Emperor. You know, some "For life" kinda seat. We have a new President every 4/8 years. All they have to do is wait until the right idiot is behind the desk, because as history has shown, it's only a matter of time. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Agree. I hated going there. Big cities. Small towns. North, south, east, west (but not as much). I avoid going there as much as I can. I made 78 trips to PRC between 1993 and 2006, built 3 greenfield plants, and hired over 4,000 workers. Now I'm busting my ass to undo my fuckups when I moved manufacturing there from the US and Taiwan. I can't stand working with the corrupt CCP trying to manufacture there.

Casuistic Thinker and Daoist |
The PRC has never been a traditional socialistic system. They took on that tittle to get aid from Russia when America refused to support Mao against the Nationalist government...they approached America for support first. The government there has always been based on the "Father/Emperor" belief system. The biggest change has been the growth of their middle class No, Daoism isn't a religion

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
That's the truth about them all if they are a dictatorship, and they always are. Labeling is done just to get them in office/power, depending on what term is popular. The guy (and it usually is) in charge is interested in absolute power and justifies their action as "it's what's best". ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.
