I've never been one to take too much bullshit, but that level has recently dropped a whole lot.

There was an old adage about never giving a microphone to a salesman, preacher, or politician. The obvious reason being they like to talk and hear their own voice. Many can talk for hours just to be listening to themselves talk. I could listen to politicians I agree with or like, say Trump for instance. Not so much the other ones.

Now I can't even listen to the "news" conference because its so full of BS. They talk for hours and never say anything. I just turned of the TV because it wasn't tolerable. My guess is the political type wants to take advantage of the free publicity they get. Don't they realize many of us watch and get offended by hours of them saying nothing of value?

I hate that this is an election year. It means my phone will start ringing non-stop with them asking me to vote for their favorite crook. I don't have a favorite, well, except Trump and McConnell. But they do more harm than good by bothering me. There's not a chance in the world I'd vote for their opponents.

I once had a theory that we should vote against all incumbents, and against all new taxes. They've solved that by not letting us vote on tax issues. Some things I don't like about my state.

We just spend our days reading, watching things like “Last Man Standing” and similar shows. We never, ever turn on the news.

One of our local (conservative) radio guys starts pretty much every segment by thanking the audience for not watching cable news. "It will destroy your soul," he says.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

The only reason I turn on the news is to see what the cute weather girls are wearing.

I look at the news less like information and true journalism, and take it for what it is: activism

You will do better to turn it off

I used to be a news junkie. I stopped watching the news about 5 years ago.

I can no longer tell if they are telling me the truth or feeding me bullshit so I decided the safe position was that it was all bullshit.

I can't even enjoy Last Man Standing without them rolling a chyron across the bottom of the screen tallying the death counts locally. There's almost no way of escaping this BS without turning the TV completely off (which is what I've done).

Yet another reason why I'm SO glad I live on a small acreage out in the boonies. Always something to do.

Today I took down more of an unused fence and sorted it into what can be reused and what is trash.

Tomorrow one of my grandsons is scheduled to come down and help me finish that job and use some of the fence to build a new chicken pen.

The old chicken coop has to come down and the electric line re-routed to the barn.

Plus I don't have the Aerial Death Machine running yet, so if the weather dictates an indoor job, there's that.

No urge whatever to turn the TV on until dark and then it's Netflix. Lot of good shows right now, none of which have ANYTHING to do with reality.

Just as I like it.

I have t watched the news in at least decade or more...probably closer to two decades..
People used to aske me. “What!?”
I told them I was a cop and saw the worst in people 12 hours a day..why would I watch the news which is more shit to get you to watch their channel.

Lately been watching four minute videos of the American civil war on YouTube. Pretty informative stuff.

If you want to know the weather in Mexico, perhaps. They know how to make the weather interesting.

What amazes me about the news media is how clueless they appear to be about how mistrusted and disbelieved they have become.

My tolerance is pretty high, usually, until every third day when Mark Cuban inflicts his opinion on the masses, as if he has some unique insight into COVID-19, the nation, the world, the universe.

I hate that guy.

Network news anchors don't report the news anymore. It's producer/anchor opinions and nonsense chatter between anchors.

Try OANN for conservative news which offers both sides of issue and no producer/anchor opinions. Plus the women anchors are beautiful.

If you want opinions, check out OANN's "The Daily Ledger" and "The Tipping Point". At least they offer facts to back up their opinions.
