So I have a 2020 Ford F-250 that we pull a horse trailer with via a gooseneck hitch here and there. Most of the time though I just use the truck for a daily driver. When we go on a family trip, we have to pack our gear into the cab and I want to get a tonneau cover so we can use the bed for our luggage. Thing is, it will need to be able to be easily removed or roll up to expose the gooseneck. Which cover would you all recommend? I value quality over cost effective by the way. Thanks!

I have this one. https://undercoverinfo.com/undercover-armorflex

It’s been a good heavy duty cover, keeps 90%+ of water out. Keeps the bed mostly dust free as well.

Bak MX4 & Peragon were the two I was heavily considering for my 16 F150
Both highly regarded from what I recall.

My dad had a Roll-n-Lock on both of his 3/4 ton Duramax (02 & 09 IIRC)

Have to ask yourself how secure you want it to be when the cover is fully in place.

Funny thing I spoke with a guy right after posting this and he showed me his bakflip cover and it looked pretty nice. Seemed well put together and versatile. It folded up vs. rolled up. He said the rolled up ones can be a bear of it snows and they freeze up. I think he said his was about 1K.

I just bought a EXTANG exceed foldable cover for my F150. https://extang.com/xceed
The neighbor has had one for a few years. No complaints. It’s very similar as the BAK brand, you just can’t see the joints.

Four days for shipping from MI via fed ex ground.

Took me and the kid about twenty minutes to install with no yelling.

I highly recommend the BAKFlip MX4.

Had the local LINE-X install one when I had them do my spray-on bedliner.

We traveled a giant loop around the US pulling our travel trailer full time last year and used our truck bed for storage. The cover performed well and let in very little water, even driving through rainstorms. Still a good idea to keep things in containers.

It’s also very solid, so temporarily placing heavy items on top while moving things around is no big deal. Only drawback is the panels are heavy, so when folding it open all the way that last flip takes noticeably more effort.

I have a Diamondback, probably would not buy another one.

It’s strong and secure, but you will loose the bed of your truck. Running to Lowes to get a stove is a no go.

They make a soft tonneau cover with an opening in it for a fifth wheel hitch. You can use your cover while towing. The cover has a roll up hatch cover for the hole for the fifth wheel hitch. I had one on my 2001 Chevy 3500. I don't remember the manufacturer. We were able to carry stuff in the truck bed while towing, keeping etuff out of the wind, weather and view of prying eyes.

I've been very happy with my Peragon truck cover. I managed to have it slipped closed with the key in the lock and snapped it off inside. They are sent me a new key lock free of charge. And I explained I messed up and broke it was asking for the replacement cost.

I have the Back Flip BAK Revolver roll-up tonneau cover on my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. Great cover. Easy to roll up to access the bed. Easy to unroll and latch into position. Installs pretty easily too.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2022 Chevy 3500HD long box with a Truxedo Low pro that I really like. I keep camping stuff covered when not in use, along with my gooseneck and fifth wheel hitch.

I have a BAK on my Ram. I really like it. Not 100% waterproof but probably 98%. Low profile and secure. It easily folds up for loading big stuff.

I’m leaning towards the Bakflip roll up. Was looking at the folding one, though dang that roll up version looks so easy to use and still seems durable.

I put a Bakflip 3 section folder on my Ridgeline in 2008 and it has never caused problems and still looks good. Not 100% waterproof, 98% is about right. I'd buy the same model again.

I have the BakFlip version on my 2019 F150, that is supplied by Ford as their branded version. I did add a water/dust seal weatherstripping kit to the truck tailgate area, and the only water I have ever seen inside the truck is a few little spots right around the rear corners of the truck bed.

I really like it, but when you want to fold it all the way up, that means that you cannot see out the rear window. Most times though I can get away with folding everything except the panel closest to the rear window, thus, not being a problem.

This may be too late but we bought a HUGE toolbox for the front of our 2011 F250.
It is a long bed so ‘rarely interferes’ with the gooseneck of wife’s 36’ Long EXISS 3 horse trailer.
We can install or take the toolbox out in 15 minutes.
