Sounds like the police chief and counselman Jenkins are concerned they're going to lose more supporters, the way one characterized the store owner as a vigilante, and the other says he doesn't want his citizens to have guns.

Oakland has been a steaming pile of shit for decades, and those two and their predecessors are the reason.

The store employees won't be charged with anything as all the shooting happened inside the store against armed suspects, a clear case if there ever was one of self-defense. California, for all its faults, has a "castle doctrine" without explicitly saying it has a castle doctrine. But now they'll have to worry about rioting and looting and specific threats from the perps' friends or family. With the guns used most likely held as evidence, I hope they have spares.

As for that police chief and his "you shouldn't take the law in your own hands" horse shit ... Only one law is in effect here - survival.

Get rid of the big ass TV blocking line of sight of the door. Also, it provided a place for the turds to hide behind

Get some buffer between him and customers (e.g. display cases or better yet bullet proof glass). The one turd had him trapped between TV and couch when it started and tackled him.

It's great he was able to lock the front door and trap the turds, but the office needs to be able to lock to separate him and other employees from the trapped turds.

I was on the Oakland PD for 10 years in the 70's. Last 3 years doing CSI. It was bad then, but not nearly what it's become now. We also had a bit more support from the city then.


Still, I loved the job and only resigned as a company I'd founded on the side was doing better than me and required my full attention.

Ha ha! Morons. Rot in hell! I had to watch that a ton of times to keep track of each person. I kept only seeing 4 people, but one got downed in the beginning at the door. I am glad the owner and employee were not harmed.
