old rugged crossSun comes out and temperatures rise and I get pissed off.
Yes I hate summer, I just do for multiple reasons.
Others have depression issues with the gray days of winter. For some reason I love it. So now I am faced with three of fours months of hot, dry and that burning hot orb. Shit grows, insects come out in droves, high water, more traffic and people, etc. etc etc/ I need to head for the tall timber or maybe more North and West for a few months.
Give me a woodstove and a stack of firewood. Maybe a couple of snow removal devices. Some shorter days and all is good. I am ready for October already.
Rant off.
Of course it aint all bad, just most of it

RogueJSKSame.
I hate summer. I hate being hot. I hate sweating. I hate sunburns. I hate bug bites. I hate dealing with allergies.
I'm definitely a Fall/Winter kind of guy.

tatortoddI could live in South Central Alaska every summer for the rest of my life and be very happy. 65° is a normal summer day, maybe a half dozen days reach 75°, and every once a while hits 80.
I would love to live in South Central Alaska from middle of May until September 1 (gets too gray, cold, and rainy after that) and live in Texas the rest of the year.

OrgussI once swore to God I would never complain about the summer again after having to bicycle 8 miles each way to work through 30 days of rain. So I'm happy about the summer!

What I'm not happy about is having to work in a vehicle with no heater, air conditioning, or working 12-volt plugs that I might have used to power a fan.

sigfreundI hate the heat, too. In the mountains it was 34° when I checked the thermometer at 6:00 this morning, and during my walk there were still patches of snow in the woods. Love it here.

BurtonRWI'm definitely a spring/fall kind of guy. Give me 60-80 and I'll be happy. (Maybe a little warm at 80, but I can deal.)
Mrs.BurtonRW, on the other hand, is COLD until it hits 80 and not particularly happy until we're closer to 90. Hotter is good, too.

TomSI just moved from San Antonio to SE Tennessee. There is a heat warning today for 90 degrees which I do not believe it will hit where I live in the hills.
Hot in TX was 100 + for weeks. I have my ceiling fans on and that’s all I need.
Maybe I’ll go sit by the trout stream in the shade 50’ off my back porch! I love this retirement thing. Amazon stuff delivered later.
Best regards,
Tom
I have no comment at this time. May 14, 2018, 10:15 AM
hvyhawlerI Agree, just wish our warmer weather, not hot (can't call them summers) would last a bit longer... Love the temps 0 - 65 ish with no wind...

AquabirdI like the changes.
I had planned to go out and shoot my new Sig pistol and the new AR upper my wife got me for Christmas that I have not shot or sighted in.
But I get up today and rain. We need rain too.
I do prefer the cold to the really hot weather now, that comes with age I think, not sure why all the older people retire and move to Florida or Arizona.
Went to Arizona last summer for a week and it was hard to take for a week. Darn near got dehydrated bad. I caught it in time and reversed it.

ggileI'm one of those people who, instead of heading south for the winter, head further north for the summer.

Todd HuffmanI love fall, lower temps, humidity is down, and hunting season is going on. Plus the fish are usually biting and the lake is warm enough to swim in til early October.
Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
