New Photobucket Plan
January 19, 2018, 11:23 PM
kimberkidNew Photobucket Plan
Has anyone else seen their new Plan?
For personal use only ... No advertising on eBay, Amazon etc, includes 3rd party hosting for forums, storage of upto 300,000 photos
$99 ... Billed annually, but still too much IMHO.
Seems their $399.95 screwing ... backfired on them

I'd be ok with $5/mo, i.e. $60/year
If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.
I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

sigmonkeyWhen they hit "All you can upload, for 99 cents." ping me. Until then, Fuck them sideways with a bent cactus.

mod29I closed my photobucket account a while ago.
To hell with them.

bigdealLet's see... With my Google account I get unlimited picture storage on Goggle Photos. And if I need to post a pic to a board, I'll use Postimages.org, which is also free.
Photobucket can sit and spin for all I care. I'll never go near them again.

Oz_ShadowYou can get 20 GB of web hosting from Namecheap.com for $10 per year. Buy a domain name for about $10 a year and upload your pics to your own folder to link however you want, where ever you want

NavyGuyClosed my PB account when the crap started last year. I now get a chuckle every time I get a solicitation asking me to come back, which is about once a week. Tee-hee.

darthfusterThey're missing the point. I don't trust them anymore. Photos are intensely personal. They held mine hostage. PB could promise to go back to free and I wouldn't use it. I understand they neended revenue, but they went about it way wrong.

MikeNHAlready moved my stuff to Imgur. Photobucket can suck it.

RogueJSKWay too little, too late.
I dumped Photobucket in favor of Imageshack. I pay $37.99/year at Imageshack, and couldn't be happier.

just1tymI just opened my photobucket account that I haven't used in years since I have an account with Zenfolio. Photobucket has turned to garbage, ads, pop-ups, extremely poor navigation..If you click someplace on a photo page it automatically goes to an upgrade plan for you to subscribe to. Not to mention the trashy ads all over the page. And to top it off, you can pay a small amount to rid the ads on your page

I had one hell of a time just trying to find the log out menu...AWFUL!
Regards, Will G.

RHINOWSOI stopped caring about posting my photos, but if I want to post something imgbb works fine.
FREE.

ensigmaticPhuck Photobucket. They're on all my browsers' blocklists and they'll
stay there.
Forever.
Most execrable example of bait-and-switch I think I've seen in my lifetime.

41I left mine open since it hogs their memory base.

I check in from time to time to tease them.

At least 1/2 doz times in the limit use I made of the 'free service years' they had horrid tech glitches frequently, and absolutely would NEVER answer any inquiry for technical help.
I had to jettison all attempts to close/edit/recover/delete the perhaps several dozen files I had there, as I was unable to access the site after their last spasm.

12131The only reason I still use PB is that they still let me link pics to other sites with my ongoing subscription plan I have with them since forever. It's $9.99/year.

rhGrandfathered 3rd party linking from Photobucket ends on Dec. 31, 2018:
"ANY PAYING MEMBER WHOSE PLUS ACCOUNT WAS IN GOOD STANDING AS OF JUNE 1, 2017, SHALL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE IMAGE LINKING AND 3RD PARTY IMAGE HOSTING SERVICES THAT WERE AVAILABLE TO HIM/HER ON SUCH DATE, INCLUDING, UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2018 AS LONG THEY MAINTAIN THEIR CURRENT PLUS ACCOUNT SUBSCRIPTION OR A HIGHER LEVEL PLUS ACCOUNT SUBSCRIPTION DURING SUCH PERIOD OF TIME AND DO NOT EXCEED THE STORAGE LIMIT OF THEIR CURRENT PLUS ACCOUNT LEVEL."

darthfusterI look forward to one day reading a story that states PB has gone under. There is nothing left but archives and the CEO is living on the street turning tricks for fixes.
