It's that time of the year to freshen up the flock with some new chicks. What have you folks added to your collection recently? This is their first time out in the sunshine while it warm enough for them to enjoy it.

Very cool...

Added a recent quail hatch



And a breeder trio...Beveren rabbits. Only 10 weeks old so won't be able to breed until summer.

What variety of quail? They are so tiny...

After 8 years of purchasing the "left over"
farm store chicks for 25 cents a piece,
Charlie
Did a head count of 85 chickens.

He sells his eggs at $3.00 per dozen.

He delivers 12 dozen every other day too
two restaurants.

They are Jumbo Pharaoh Coturnix. They'll top out at about 16 ozs. in 10 weeks. They'll start laying at about 6-7 weeks. Usually butcher at about 8 weeks @ 14-15 ozs.
