Amazon mobile app
I've had an Amazon account for quite awhile, but I got the Amazon app for my iPhone just recently. It's quite excellent! Sends "Delivered" notifications, and makes keeping track of of your orders very easy. Other features too numerous to describe. I highly recommend it. Amazon is just awesome.

Serious about crackers.

I have the app too and the flip side is that it makes it too easy to order and spend money.

Not minority enough!

And it's so handy.
If I'm out in the garage, and find there's something I really really need, I can shop and have it ordered in just a couple minutes.

The Buy Now feature is both a blessing and a curse.

My only disappointment with it is that it's not compatible with Amazon Smile. I get around this by putting it in my cart on the app, and when I get to my laptop I purchase it through Amazon Smile.

Similar...I do all the mobile shopping in the app, then just use the phone browser to checkout on smile.

Our veteran nonprof has been getting about $120 a year from amazon, from the 3 or 4 families that support it. That's a sizable benefit. We get about 1/3rd that amount from Fred Meyer community rewards. Last year I was able to send a veteran to his first couple of crisis intervention classes with the money.

What is Amazon smile? I don't get it. Why don't get it. Why don't you just complete the purchase through the app?

Donates a fraction of your purchase to whatever charity you select. I had the app for five minutes, no advantage to just using chrome, erased it.

0.5% of your purchase goes to a charity of your choice. All you have to do is select a charity, and from then forward shop at smile.amazon.com instead of www.amazon.com

We have at least 2 members here who run charities that are Amazon Smile (e.g. HawkTalk and AKSuperDually). 3rd quarter 2017, HawkTalk supporters spent over $63k at Amazon Smile so they received $319.

Nailed it.

In total, our organization has received $460.03 from the amazon smile program since we signed up.

Some things about amazon bug me, but for our little organization...that's real money.

That's awesome how well hawktalk is doing.

If you have the app, it can send you push notifications if there's a lightning deal price discounts on any item in your wish list.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I detest alerts of any kind. I have them turned off on my phone with the exception of voicemail, text, and Fox News. Anything else I have blocked.

I pulled up the app earlier this week to check on an order status. Now, used to be I dreaded seeing AMZL as the shipper, as who knew when they would show up.

Imagine my surprise when I saw an Uber type map, with my house and a driver icon, and "there are four deliveries before yours", and watched as it updated in real time.

I just saw that Uber-like delivery display for the first time. Damned neat! Amazon is amazing.

The map is now also available in your web browser if you track your packages on the Amazon site under "Orders"
Oh, and the two drivers I talked to this week were unaware of the map. I met both of them at my door. The second one was wandering up and down the street looking for my address (after parking right in front) so it's a good thing for me.

and smoker, you need to resize your avatar down to 60x60, thanks.

I have the same work around for smile. I asked customer service for a smile app and it seems its not to be.
