Premium Nail Clipper Advice
Ok folks, I am looking to splurge and get a really nice set of nail clippers. You know the kind where every time you use them you just feel good about the quality/balance/finish etc. Hey, you have to get pleasure in life when you can right? Made in USA would be a big plus. What do you recommend.

Revlon brand nail clippers have always worked best for me. I once tried a cheap pair after losing my Revlon clippers and immediately could tell the difference in quality. I had to go out and buy another Revlon pair right away. I can't say if they are made in the USA or not though.

I'm interested as well. I bought a 3 nail clipper set at the drug store and wound up breaking all three clippers. I need some heavy duty chompers!

I bought these and really like them. I checked all the local drug and department stores and could not find anything acceptable. I don't think they are made in USA.

I have thick nails - both finger and toe.

Absolutely love these J.A. Henckels. They fold completely flat and come in a leather case. Bought them in Rotenburg Germany in 2007.

Update, a quick internet search found them at Macy's:

The Japanese make the best small tools like that. Seki seems to be the best.

The Mehaz I bought may have been made in Japan (I think it was). It was a straight front professional model for toenails, gifted to a brother - who lost it. Have not found a replacement yet.

They are made in Japan, but the best nail clippers I have found are by Muji.

The Henckels ones posted by h2oys are also very good and the Revlon ones Balze Halze mentioned are the best readily available drugstore ones.

For toenails I like the kind that are shaped like wire cutters rather than a scaled up nail clipper. (I have trouble getting under the corners of toenails with the nail clipper-style kind, the wire cutter-style kind give you more control and also are pointier and get under the corners easier.) These are really good:

Revlon makes a pretty good wire cutter-style toenail clipper that drugstores usually have.

I believe these Harperton nail clippers were recommended here. They are the best nail clippers I've ever used. The blades remain sharp and make a clean cut every time. They are made of surgical stainless steel, and have some heft to them.

I recently had a hard time finding good ones. I bought the Haus of Steel brand and am happy so far. I am watching with great interest here and may buy some more.

I have my podiatrist trim my nails about 3 or 4 times per year. Well worth the $50.00.

A hangnail can lead to infection, gangrene, and amputation. The subsequent disability could lead to reduced shooting performance in a gunfight. What's your life worth? Razz

Seriously, I got them for a gift and would never have spent that on my own without trying them. They are dang nice and cut very precisely, magnet or not.

Last summer, I bought these Zizzili Basics 3-piece clipper set and they're a huge improvement over my old clippers. 724 reviews and 4.5 stars. After a $2.00 coupon, they're only $13.99.

Throw the clippers in the trash. Go get a manicure every two weeks and a pedicure once every four weeks. All my nail problems disappeared a year ago when I started doing the Mani pedí thing. And your lady will like it when you take her with you. Smile

Interesting. Mine usually work okay for me. I do have a tiny set that is good for clipping your little toe. I think I bought it when the kids were babies.

Some of the clippers pictured look like they could take off some fingers.LOL

We have the Seki Edge finger and toe set for home use and the Henckels as well for pocket carry.

Here's a site that compares all that have been recommended thusfar. https://www.toolsofmen.com/bes...il-clippers-for-men/

Also on hand is a podiatrist style toenail clipper.
