Trolls have a very different meaning to a Yooper. For example, I give you the Yooper Creation story:

In da beginning dere was nuttin.

Den, on da first day, God created da Upper Peninsula.

On da second day He created da partridge, da deer, da bear, da fish, and da ducks.

On da third day He said, "Let dere be Yoopers to roam da Upper Peninsula".

On da fourth day He created da udder world down below.

On da fifth day He said, "Let dere be trolls to live in da world down below".

On da sixth day He created da bridge so da trolls would have a way to get to heaven.

God saw it was good and on da seventh day He went huntin.

Now we get to watch everything turn to mierda right before our eyes. Those of us not yet infected or immune from infection can see and track what's happening clear as day. The exponential advance of Leftism is alarming and IMO has reached a level that to remove it will require force in all of its forms.

This has been 'clear as day' to me since Ronald Reagan's first term as the 40th President of the United States! I was in high school at the time and later was privileged to vote to re-elect him in the first Presidential Election in which I was eligible to do so! Cool

So-called because they live under the (Mackinac) Bridge. Also known as "Fudgies," for tourists' propensity to buy boatloads of Mackinac fudge, or "flat-landers," because Michigan's southern peninsula is mostly pretty flat.

I had lunch with with the gentleman. Great guy! He is just getting his feet with the SF hive but I have every reason to believe he is a fine addition to the forum.
And as a lifelong Yooper, he is not a troll. I, however, am!

Oh, cut it out. Do you actually believe that this was wilful plagiarism?

How many times have members posted items such as this without an accompanying link? It happens all the time, so just put your righteous indignation back in the box.

Sorry, it wasn't an attempt to call out the OP. I meant to point out that not only have societies standards changed, as pointed out in the original article, there are double standards meaning people like Joe Biden seem to be allowed to use the words of others as their own but not regular folks.
Sorry, poor choice of words on my part but no indignation intended, righteous or otherwise.

When I was young and living in Michigan, inhabitants of the state were called "Michiganders".

I refuse to use that word, because it's a stupid word that was promoted by stupid people ignorant of the state's history and the history of the word.

Though, given the state's recent lean to the left, perhaps it's now deserved Wink

Regardless, it's time to get serious about leaving this state. However, with the economy and housing market both in disarray, where to move and how to remain employed are serious concerns. Finding a new veterinarian who can help us take proper care of our (now four) kids is another priority. Healthcare here for us totally sucks as well.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
