I bet the Marines wouldn't take him, and he's actively headed in the direction of jail. I think the idea is to straighten him out before he ends up there. I'm NOT optimistic.

I bet she'd even let him have police pajamas

An evaluation by a competent clinical psychologist should reveal whether he can be helped. Many forms of aberrant behavior cannot be changed. Some individuals such as psychopaths, fail to learn from experience and keep repeating the same behaviors. I do not see a lot of hope with this young man given his history.

Given his age and that he has probably (the article doesn't give his priors) not hurt anyone yet, I'd like to think there is one, but it is probably too late. Think of it like a tomcat that sprays in the house. No amount of punishment (this would actually make it worse) or even neutering him will change the behavior once it has been learned. The possibility exists that his elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, but this raises more questions such as why didn't anybody help him earlier.

Would you serve in combat with him?
Why doe anyone think that the military is a social service organization? Guys like this have no real skills, aren’t motivated and aren’t disciplined.
PASig said “10 minutes” I think that’s generous. So tell me, what do you do when he fails?
The military is all volunteer, uses high tech and has high standards. There’s no time or inclination to deal with him.

That enforced allowance program does work. That would take a father in the home.

+1

That's a ridiculous proposition there.

Force him to be the problem of the military and a liability to the taxpayer?

The military does not instill any discipline, they bring out the discipline that already exists. It's the military, not a miracle organization.
