HighZonieUK grandma shoots intruder with crossbow
.........
It suddenly hit him like a Bolt!
"I should'a not messed with Grandma."
"Oh, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. And just when I was about to turn myself around."

synthplayerI was amazed at the comments. A lot of them had to do with doubting the grandma's story, insinuating that she may have lured the intruders to her house in order to shoot them with her crossbow. Sheesh - talk about brain-washed by the liberal media!

Discussion points... Type of point on the crossbow bolt; broadhead, or target point? If a broadhead, width of point, and/or number of blades, two or three? If a broadhead of some type, could definitely be messy! If a medieval point, broadhead or armor piercing, in case armor of sometype is involved!
Anyway good on her, not wanting to be helpless!
Crossbows are legal in Great Britain. People under 18 can't buy or process them.
Broadheads are legal but "highly discouraged." You cannot hunt with them.
Hunting, unless on private land is illegal in the county.
Police, may seize crossbows if the person is under 18. I'm not sure but expect they took her crossbow as evidence or part of the nvestigation. However, the news articles show her again with the crossbow so she must have gotten it back.
In the article she says:
"I had it loaded. I practice with it in my garden, which is 130 feet long. The bolt I shot him with was dirty because I had been using it. It was six inches long and disappeared into him"
It sounds like she was target practicing. Between that and the law on broad points odds are good it was a target point (dirty)

JALLENAt least one doesn’t need hearing protection, or suppressors, and no muzzle flash to set your mustache on fire.

Or she has a spare. "Two is one and one is none."
