Hardly. Holding parents and guardians responsible for their minor charges' behavior is old school. It's the way things were when I was brought up. Children behaving badly was a reflection on their parents' or guardians' lack of child-rearing skills.

You can still occasionally see faint echos of that in things such as "Didn't your mother ever teach you...?", "Some peoples' kids," and "Were you brought up in a barn?"

Since when do leftist parents give a care about their precious entitled one's behavior?

World may be a better place if they actually did care.

China is very socially conservative.

The CCP is very pro nuclear family as the basic unit of society. They push marriage, children, and family. The delaying of marriage by the younger generation is seen is a problem, so there are efforts to have sort of speed dating meet and greet events.

Adult entertainment in media is banned, including Rated R movies (that's why they like U.S. Superhero PG-13 movies so much), and having children out of wedlock is also illegal, punishable by fines.

Despite the heavy handedness, they are encouraging the values that the church used to encourage here.

Funny how Chinese marxists push family, while western marxists push destruction of the family.

This is largely the case when the larva are juveniles. This would backfire on the left as it’s mainly their ill bred, ill raised vermin that are creating more crime than kids that are brought up in conservative households.

China is not socially conservative. The dictatorship enforces policies that makes it easier to control the populace. Nothing to do with morals, values or ethics. it's about control.

In my direct experience in China, it is. Not just the government but the people and culture. Of course, it is different than South Korea and Japan, which are more conservative in some ways (and less in others).
