We're working on our porch and we picked up some Trex railing. It's there any way to extend the 6' pack so that it will go the entire 8' of the deck instead of adding a post on the middle of the sides? Perhaps there's a connector that allows us to extend the reach of the tracks that hold the banister poles.

I'm getting started on a similar project. The Trex rail and baluster kits come in either 6-foot or 8-foot lengths. They do not have anything to add-on to extend the length of either section. Then you add the posts on either end so you do get a bit more length there depending on what posts you are using. (Their biggest seems to be a 6x6 post sleeve that is probably about 7x7 for the outside diameter.

Can you get the 8-foot section instead?

All of my sections are more than 8 feet, hence I need to buy 6-foot sections and cut them all short resulting in a bunch of waisted material; that is not inexpensive.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

That's exactly what I need. Looks like I'll have to order them though as they're not available off the shelf. Thanks.

Not sure but 6ft may be code for railing in most areas.
When I rebuilt my deck that is what I was told.

All the manufacturers have to meet code in order to sell them legally. Eight foot sections are used quite commonly as long as the installation instructions are properly followed...

The steel piece that was made to slide into the hand rail was only sold in 6 ft lengths while the hand rail came in 12 ft lengths.
I can't imagine "piecing" the steel strip inside the hand rail.
