My smokin' hot wife and I are wanting to get away for a long weekend sooner than later. Anyone have a spot they like where it's warm right now? I looked at some Cancun options but $4k plus for a weekend is a bit much considering we are taking a week long Princess cruise in May

We've been to the Club Med at Port St. Lucia, FL, twice for a USA Pickleball ambassadors retreat. We liked the facility and great staff as well as the really great buffet. It's located up the river and a long way from the ocean. As a result, its 'beach's is not one to write home about. We wouldn't have gone back on our own.

I stayed at the Cheeca Lodge on Islamorada and had a great time. Flew in to Ft. Lauderdale. Check it out.

15 or so years ago Mrs Mike and I stayed at the first hotel on Duval Street in Key west, within walking distance to all the bars food and fun...currently it’s called the pier house resort...tel:+13052964600...I see they have some less than Stella reviews....but it was really nice to walk everywhere, and we only slept in the room and stayed mildly buzzed the whole time there....I’d recommend it to give it or another hotel in the area..

This is a very good recommendation. I'd fly into Miami if going to Cheeca Lodge, beautiful drive down though.

Sunset Cay in Key West is very nice too, but very pricey, depending on your budget. Most places in FL are NOT all inclusive, which I'd prefer because there are so many restaurant options that are a $5 uber ride from whatever hotel you're staying at. Key West has an airport you could fly into. You really cannot beat Key West for a long weekend and enough activities.

Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas would be worth checking out too, they have some nice packages and airfare to Nassau, Bahamas is pretty cheap this time of year.

I'm liking the Cheeca Lodge, plenty of flights out of Atlanta.

We have been to Atlantis, it's ok

Speaking of Nassau, Carnival has 4 day cruises out of Charleston that are cheap. Just don't know if I want to see Nassau again.

I certainly wouldn't leave out of Charleston on a cruise. You have a full day steam to the Bahamas and a full day Steam back...….That's another idea, plenty of cruises out of Ft. Laud or Miami.....I'd fly to either if you can get a non stop flight which should be no problem.

Cheeca is very nice, was one of George Bush's favorite haunts (might still be IDK). Should be no problem getting a non stop to FLL or MIA (closer to Cheeca), rent yourself a convertible......drive down to Cheeca and relax, could easily do a day trip to Key West from Cheeca if you choose to.

For that kind of money, I'd go deep sea fishing for a couple of days.

Cheeca has a renovation coming up, call them to ensure you’re not listing to that bullshit for the duration of your stay.

I did not. All the smokin' hotties I know like boats and tend to wear nothing much on the boat.

We ( with my smokin’ hot wife) went to the keys just after Christmas for a week or so and had a great time.
We flew into Key West and worked our way up to Key Largo.

Although we did not stay there you might want to look into Margaritaville in KW. It is relatively new and well laid out.
Another option is Hawks Cay in Ducks Key if you want to do a little fishing...

That is part of the fun, we have been on several of these 3-4 day cruises. Charleston and Mobile ports are both about five hours from us. A tank of gas and around $300 each for a quick get a way. Just us, no kids and no distractions

People talk bad about Carnival but we haven't had a problem. No phone service and no wifi unless you pay for it. We get the crappy rooms in the belly of the ship on purpose, you can hear the hum of the engines and it slightly rocks you all night. We sleep great

Food is always excellent and always available. There are plenty of things to do. One of the days I usually send her to the spa for a few hours while I break out a $100 bill in the casino.

Is the world burning? Work going to shit? I don't know, phone no worky Cool

These cruises are what we usually do when we want to quickly get away, was exploring something different. I will definitely keep the Keys in mind. If it was warmer I might consider a cabin in the mountains.
