One of the guards ought to secure him a "oneies". Preferably a well seasoned one from a local street person with fleas.

Does this mean he won't be the 2024 Dem nominee or will it bolster his bid?

Awwwwww poor michael avenasty has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for ripping off and defrauding Stormy Daniels.

*** Daniels took delight in the ruling, tweeting, ""See ya there, b----!... except I'm flying in first class. Buwahaha." ***

Disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday for cheating his former client, adult film star Stormy Daniels, out of $300,000.

Avenatti spoke for 12 minutes at the sentencing, acknowledging the "series of mistakes" and "poor judgment" he exercised.

Avenatti was convicted of aggravated identity fraud and wire fraud in New York federal court earlier this year. He faced up to two years in prison for the former, and 20 for the latter.

Of the four years, 30 months will be served concurrently with the 2 1/2-year sentence he was previously given in a separate case for trying to extort Nike out of $25 million.

"I will forever be branded ‘disgraced lawyer’ and worse," he said.

Ahead of sentencing, Avenatti had sent a letter apologizing to Daniels, but the judge said this gesture was "too little, too late."

Avenatti did not want to appear in court for sentencing and had requested to be sentenced remotely. Judge Furman denied the request, ordering him to appear.

"In the Court’s view, the gravity and significance of the sentencing proceeding would be ill served by a remote proceeding," Furman wrote.

Daniels took delight in the ruling, tweeting, ""See ya there, b----!... except I'm flying in first class. Buwahaha."

Avenatti rose to fame as the attorney for Daniels when she was trying to get out of an October 2016 agreement where she received $130,000 in exchange for her silence regarding her claim that she had an affair with former President Donald Trump in 2006. Trump has denied that the affair took place.

Avenatti was a ubiquitous presence on television during his legal battle against Trump. At one point during the height of his notoriety he fancied the idea of his own presidential bid.

Avenatti has an upcoming retrial in California federal court in a separate case in which he is accused of stealing nearly $10 million from five clients. A judge declared a mistrial in the first trial last August after prosecutors failed to turn over relevant financial evidence.

Michael Avenatti, the former lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, has reportedly decided to plead guilty in the remaining criminal cases against him.

Avenatti is charged with 36 counts of fraud, embezzlement, perjury, failure to pay taxes, and other financial-related crimes.

In a filing before a federal judge in Southern California on Sunday, Avenatti said he wanted to change his plea guilty, setting in motion the end of his criminal litigation.

Avenatti was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison for stealing book proceeds from his former client, Stormy Daniels

The California lawyer, currently incarcerated, learned his fate in Manhattan federal court, where Judge Jesse M. Furman said the sentence will mean that Avenatti will spend another 2 1/2 years in prison on top of the 2 1/2 years he is already serving after another fraud conviction.

His conviction for aggravated identity theft required a mandatory two-year prison sentence. He was also convicted of wire fraud. He's already serving a 2 1/2-year sentence for trying to extort Nike. Avenatti was convicted in 2020 of threatening to ruin the shoemaker's reputation if it did not pay him up to $25 million.

Avenatti’s additional 36 counts of fraud could potentially have him serving many more years in prison.

"Despite repeated efforts over the last year by Mr. Avenatti and his counsel, including substantial efforts made in the last 30 days, defendant has been unable to reach a plea agreement with the government," Avenatti’s lawyer said in the Sunday filing. "Mr. Avenatti wishes to plea in order to be accountable; avoid his former clients being further burdened; save the Court and the government significant resources; and save his family further embarrassment."

Michael Avenatti sentenced to 14 years in prison

"I am deeply remorseful and contrite."

Of course you are.

It seems like just yesterday when all of the news media were tossing this guy's salad and talking him up as the next POTUS.

Still a lot of local and state positions that Dem voters wouldn't care about.

Last year: “No crime was committed by me, and I never intended to steal or defraud any client of any money at all. Not last week. Not last month. Not last year. Never. I have pled not guilty for one reason: because I am not guilty.”

Today: "I am deeply remorseful and contrite."

The only thing he's remorseful of is getting caught.
