It's not going to help Hunter but I gotta say I agree with her in terms of the wishes of conservatives when it comes to Uncle Sam sticking his nose into our gun purchases, and her frustration and clumsy attempt to help the crackhead amuses me. What "the Republicans want to do" has no bearing on the laws on the books, and she knows this.
And... with the hypocrisy-shoe on the other foot, the Dems have been trying to stop lawful gun purchases instead of "cracking" down (yea, that was a Hunter reference) on crime.

I don't understand why he is being prosecuted. It likely isn't because he should be, there's something else going on. Like justifying DT prosecution and attempting to sell the "no one is above the law" farce, or something else, like a huge prosecution of anyone filling out a 4473 and having a pot prescripton.
