I suspect most of us were well aware of this already! Sorry about butchering the paste of the table. The well-formatted one is at the link above.

The table is tallied by rows, not by columns.
It appears they had a 2 step survey:
#1: Rate your mental health.
#2: What is your position on the political spectrum.
So don't read it like 19% of Conservatives polled listed their mental health as Poor, 24% were Fair, 32% were Good, etc... Rather, of the ones who answered Poor, 45% were Liberal, 35% were Moderate, and 19% were Conservative. And so on.
The only discrepancies when the chart is read this way is that Poor adds up to 99%, and Excellent adds up to 101%. But that can be explained by them rounding decimals.
So, for example, of the Excellents they may have had something like 19.7% Liberal, 29.8% Moderate, and 50.5% Conservative, which adds up to 100%, but they rounded up to the whole numbers 20/30/51 for the sake of chart simplicity and ended up with 101%.
Similar with the 99% for Poor. They rounded some decimals down and ended up with a missing 1%.

BeancookerI work at a gym. I see all sorts across the political spectrum.
Without question, the liberals that are seething about Trump this and Trump that, definitely seem rather unhappy.
If you spend your day furious about something that is so far beyond your control, you’ll probably have a pretty miserable existence.

John SteedIt would be interesting to know if a similar poll was taken during the Biden years.
My gut feeling is it would be about the same.

ridewvLiberals by their very nature are often unhappy because they are never satisfied. They always want things to change and when things don't they're upset. When they do get change they soon want it to change again and their unhappiness continues.

I loathed and dreaded the Clinton/Obama?Biden years.
Much the same when I had lean financial years and worked multiple streams to meet the demands and needs of a growing family and businesses. There were the full diaper slumping towards my knees years, and the "Happy Days are Here Again..." years.
None were "seething derangement and wanting to die" times, just shitty and dismal "storms" that took a little extra effort to remind myself why I was enduring the suck, that it would pass, and I would still be fine after it. Not unhappy, just disappointed at the reality of the moment.
Lefties are Losers. Sucks being them, but that's not my problem. Fuck 'em. We are all on the same train going the same place, if it's too hard, let them jump off at Willoughby....
