I’ve really gotten away from tactical stuff more and more over the past decade. Wearing a uniform and additional items in certain AORs has turned me off from anything but pants and a tshirt.

HOWEVER! I’ve completely fallen in love with 5.11 Stryke pants! They are comfortable, less hot than most pants (they breath really well), and have pockets for a flashlight, knife, keys, and other nonsense I might need. Throw a pair of Klein pliers in the pocket, sure, framing square in the right rear pocket, fits easily.

Couple this with the fact that when I’m working (outside, not my “9-5”) I wear my oldest pair of Rocky uniform boots for comfort and I don’t care if they get destroyed. All this means I look like every Army E3 who enters a gun store.

If I ever go to a public range again I’ll definitely wear my running shorts and crocs. OPSEC! Or do I just submit and start wearing a damn chest rig with 12 AR mags loaded? I feel like I’m one thigh holster away from a meme.

Anyways, they are good pants! If you can find em at a good price.

10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

All I ever wear are 5.11 pants and 10", lace up, black leather boots. Shirts can vary. The only exceptions are bedtime and at the gym.

I really don't care how it looks; it's damn functional.

I wore a uniform in one way or the other for almost 30 years until I retired.
I have since adapted my own uniform, worn Daily.
Sweat pants (almost always black), A T-shirt with pocket (almost always black), no socks, and slip on shoes.
If I have to I will put on socks.
Total comfort and ease of dressing are my requirements now.

I'm not a fan. Of the tactical look but I love the 5.11 apex pants.

Have you resorted to duct taping trauma plates to your back?

Any plans to catch multiple .338 rounds to the back while covering your SO?

Do you strap on the 'deadly duo' when you leave work?

If no.... you're not a mall ninja.

I used to have several pair of 5.11 pants, but I stopped buying them because they just didn't hold up for me. What I loved about them were the back pockets. Any pants you can carry a 7-11 Super Big Gulp in your back pocket is a winner in my book. Big Grin

I've found it best to stay as far as possible from Malls, or anyplace similar, and not just for the reasons discussed here.Smile

I used to wear stretchy 5.11 pants like Strykes fairly often, though I trended towards other similar styles without the goofy cargo pockets for off duty wear.

But then I discovered Duluth Trading's Foreman pants, which are just as comfortable and stretchy, but are significantly more durable. Like a cross between Strykes and Carharts.

(And they don't have cargo pockets, though they do still have a small phone/tool slit pocket on the back of the right thigh.)

They're a bit steep at full retail, but they go on sale somewhat often for ~$45-$50.

Wow, I thought the internet stories of the mall ninja was just folklore. To see it was real is hilarious.

And to dress up, you just throw on a short sleeved shirt on over the T shirt.
