dsietsOne of the neighbors had a beautiful orange polydactyl cat that had our back deck as part of his patrol. I'm not sure what happened to him. But since then the red squirrels have been coming back.

flashguyI am sorry for the neighbors. I have 6 indoor cats and 3 regular back yard visitors. Needless to say, I don't have a mouse, rat, or bird problem.

bendableMarvin got the run of the neighborhood , twice a day.
I knew him for 9 of his 11 years.
he'd sit on your deck but not on your deck furniture, he'd never hop up on anyone's car and leave prints.
he'd take a dove, two or three times a year.
he wouldn't spray your doors
one time he went in to the farmers machine shop, they left the door open , they did not see him enter and locked him in there all weekend.
Ray put flyers up on saturday and the shop owner called Ray to say that he's coming home and told him the story

YooperSigsI had some neighbors who had a half feral Marvin like tomcat. He ruled his AO with an iron paw and bore the scars of many battles. When they moved away and left him, he just moved down to my house. He would come into my house and snooze on my couch. Any attempt to touch him instantly converted him to full on combat ready. I guess that we had an uneasy truce.

lymanwe had a neighborhood 'Marvin' when we moved in our place
he could get annoying, since he was a bit attention starved (neighbors who were owned by him had little ones)
good kitty, good mouser,
he was a bit of a drooler,
anyway, one afternoon the wife was doing some stuff in the year and Kit Kit was purring, rubbing and drooling, following her around the yard,
she would stop and give him a rubdown etc etc and go back to work,
they are walking across the yard, he is under her feet, she is fussing, and he just stops,
dead in his tracks,
about the time the wife starts fussing about getting out of her way he pounces, and picks up a small snake,
chomped it a couple times and walked off with it,
my wife HATES snakes,
from that moment on he was the best cat ever

Oh, yeah! And opossums, too. I am visited by both from time to time. They and the outdoor cats seem to get along OK.
