Was checking my emergency supplies in my truck and then in my home duffel, and discovered my batteries (AA, AAA, 123, etc..) were corroded. I had them stored in these battery caddies but all had corrosion formed. I understand one solution is putting ointment/petro jelly on the terminals however that's a bit messy, I'm thinking of cleaning up the battery caddy's and putting the batteries into a small Pelican-dive container that's waterproof but...is that really solving the issue?

Must be Duraleaks. I don’t care what anyone thinks of them but they are junk and have ruined more devices of mine than I care to admit. Switched to Energizers and haven’t had a problem in years. Someone will come in and say the opposite but it’s way too much of a coincidence for me to go back.
