It was the Cub Scouts. I just donated 10 bucks and said no to the popcorn. Cookies may have been very costly to me

I said the same thing as the op back in the 90's. I was ashamed of selling the overpriced popcorn.
I was told "that's the girls thing, popcorn is the guys thing"
Now that girls can be boys and boys can be girls ..... I wonder if ......

Honestly, the popcorn isn't that great. I'd just as soon give the $20 directly to the troop.

(And then I'd spend $12 more on three boxes of Thin Mints!) Razz

They got screwed. The popcorn is overpriced and meh.

They ought to get into the cookie business, non vegan like the girl scout ones used to be, and they ought to sell them all year long. They'd make a killing.

At the sales, I always give a donation, but opt out on the "prize" always hoping they get to keep it all for the troop.

Our troop used to sell frozen pizzas. We made a lot more money selling those than we ever did selling popcorn and people seemed genuinely happy to buy the pizza. Most people who bought the popcorn I think did it because they just wanted to help the Boy Scouts.

After spending 2 hours in entrance of Walmart yesterday I have to say amen...they boys did great, $450+ in popcorn but with the exception of the 18 pack it's not very good popcorn.

I was very surprised how many people "bought" probably 1 in 7....

Mind you my boy in his uniform is "adorable"...or maybe it was the fetching Den Master in shorts that drew them in Cool
