old rugged crossBought a car - finally. Update: inspection done, need to fix 2 things
Shocks leaking is pretty normal. I don't think any dealer or reseller is going to disclose that.
The other issue I personally feel like it should of been either addressed. Good folks would of taken care of before selling. Or at least disclosed so the buyer could factor in when considering purchasing.
A reputable outfit would of done one or the other. I would give them the chance to do right by you. It is really going to depend on what kind of an outfit they are. They knew about it I will guarantee you that. But chose to ignore it and sell it anyways. That speaks volumes to me.
I would think they would what you happy especially considering the magnitude of your purchase. Reputation is everything usually. I would let them know you are not happy but would be if they stand behind your purchase.

konata88Thanks. Okay, I'll check w/ the shop when I pick up the car and get their opinion if the pump leakage was something that reasonably should have been noticed by the dealer, even with a cursory inspection. If so, then I'll contact the dealer.

The shocks are not too bad -- the AHC system is in overall good condition. Shocks seems to be about $200 (parts and labor).
Correct. Too many series in my head at the moment.
