I have the Kreg Jig® K4 and the Classic 2" Face Clamp .
The clamp comes in very handy to hold things in place.

A Kreg K4 or K5 would be easy to use and do a good job for you. Biscuits are really only for alignment and don't add any strength to speak of. On the surface it seems like a mortise and tenon joint but the biscuit doesn't go into either piece far enough to add anything. They're good for aligning panels and sometimes better without glue.
