Really getting tired of this. Funny it always happens during peak football and sports season. My friends are all buying the ESPN app to watch games this weekend. I said screw it. I’m going to my property to cut some firewood and shoot guns. The hell with them all.

Disney's stock price was at its current level over 10 years ago. Disney's management feels that its content is worth a premium, when it's not. I'm sure YouTube's offer is based on customers' demand and that folks are moving away from Disney. Disney needs to wake up to reality.

We stream You Tube so we can watch ESPN, ESPN2, SEC, FX, and several other channels (including ABC). If they cannot resolve this and get these added back, we will be walking away from You Tube.

That sounds like an enjoyable weekend.

My wife had the Halloween Dancing with the Stars from three days ago recorded using YouTubeTV. When she tried to watch it last night, it said it was expired. Now we know why.

As I recall, this happened often with NBC and DirecTV as well.

Agree that it’s frustrating. We can still watch a few games on YouTube TV on Fox Sports and NBC. We have ESPN+ access through our cell phone plan with Verizon so I should be able to watch what I want to - just through more apps.

I saw a clip from the Patrick Bet David podcast yesterday, and one of the commentators said that Disney owns HULU which is a direct competitor to YouTube TV and the source of this negotiation issue. Seems Disney is trying to get subscribers to cancel YouTube TV and pay for HULU premium options.

The outcome of this will be interesting.
Disney thinks they are worth a premium. You Tube thinks they aren’t. Basically, Disney is banking on You Tube losing viewers if they don't carry the Disney package while You Tube thinks they will lose viewers if they have to raise subscription fees to keep Disney.

This is small potatoes. Our local Fox channel (KLRT Fox16) has been in dispute with Directv and DISH for over 2 years. They want more money and DISH & DTV said No. Two years with no local Fox.

Disney has bought up so much of sports content. Examples..Monday Night Football. I wouldn’t watch it anyways but MNF was a staple of American television for Americans on Monday night. Into Football? Not into Football? It gave something for Americans to do. You had to watch ads, but not a long going on, on a Monday night. Terrestrial television.

They bought up Tennis. I watch women’s tennis, especially the Grand Slams. This ain’t the days of Martina Navratoliva. Some beautiful athletes these days from all sorts of countries. Well ESPN bought that shit too when the majors used to be on terrestrial television. Now ESPN has bought up professional tennis.

ESPN has also bought the NBA now. Back in the day you could watch on NBC (can again finally), TNT, TBS, WGN, and one of the Fox Sports channels. Channels that were on the basic cable package so it wasn’t bank.

So all these sports you used to be able to get with rabbit ears and punching the side of the TV if the picture got fuzzy. Now? Contract disputes, 8 streaming services. And the insult to injury with ESPN/Disney buying up all this shit? You pay out the ass to view it, whatever streaming services you do it on, but you still have to view ads? If I’m paying you a subscription price to see your shit, then fuck your ads. Greedy mother fuckers.

I see the forest for the trees and refuse to pay Disney for anything. If they continue to buy more shit I’ll just quit watching whatever it is. They are a horrible DEI, POS company who were the first, or one of the first, to lay Americans off in favor of H1B Visas. Exploiting the law. There is nothing good about Disney. Opt out.

One more reason to hate Disney. I heard someone on sports radio saying they tried to order espn and the link redirected them to Hulu sign up page.

I really do T react well to being forced to do something or being ripped off.

This crap seems to never end now. Seems like every other month we are being threatened with losing channels due some "dispute" which you know is 110% all about money.

My Dad told me over the weekend that he's done with paying $250 a month for Verizon TV and internet and I offered to set him up with YTTV instead but he just wants to drop it all, get basic internet of some sort and put up an OTA antenna. At this rate, that seems like a better and better idea all the time.

Aggravating, when the Texas Rangers setup their own streaming service, we could finally dump the local cable service and got YouTube TV. Even with the combined new price, we still saved big over cable’s exorbitant pricing.
We don’t watch a whole lot more than sports, mostly baseball, college football, and news. Migrating to another streaming platform won’t be the end of the world, but it still bites.
