I heard such a rumor.
And went to snopes.com to check it out.
snopes says its true!

bigwagonIt's a business dispute, most likely with assholes on both sides. One or the other may get an ass-reaming out of it, but somebody will pick up the pieces and Snopes will carry on.

RAMIUSI just noticed when I googled “snopes being sued”
Google auto filled words after “snopes”, and “being”....”sued” was never one of the choices. Once I typed “sued”, there’s were no choices in auto fill. Just blank.
I wonder if this is a fluke on my end, or is google suppressing it?

Fed161Google "Fact Checking the Fact Checkers." There are lots of links to articles that document mistakes by Snopes and other "fact checkers." Is most of their content accurate? Yes. Have they ever fact checked lefties and called their statements false? Yes. But they do suffer from an ideological left wing bias that affects their content. They are much more likely to call out conservatives than liberals. They fact check conservatives much more frequently.
