They put out hits on Bolton and Pompeo, and it looks like they finally got Salman Rushdie today.

Years ago when all of this turbulance in the middle east against the United State sas well as the rest of the world started to come to light I would tell people that we (the United States) should have told those country/countries that they had 48hours to clean up their act or be ready for their entire country being turned into a solid sheet of glass......But we all know that no one up in the nations capitol had the balls/or/nerves to do or say such a thing...They are and would be so afraid as to offending the rest of the world countries and their leaders. . These events will never stop as long as 1 of these fanatical leaders and followers are alive and allowed to spout their beliefs.... These events and disputes between individuals as well as entire countries have been happening since before the time of Christ and will not be stopped until the end of time and the earth no longer exist and supports human life..............drill sgt.

Iranian American journalist Masih Alinejad, who lives in New York, has been subject to two attacks by Iranian agents on US soil. In July of 2021 the FBI foiled a kidnapping plot against her. Recently the FBI arrested a man with an assault rifle outside her apartment.

All of this is in addition to the plots against Bolton and Pompeo. The real outrage to me is not that we haven't started bombing Iran. It's this. The Biden administration CONTINUES to STILL pursue a nuclear arms agreement with Iran. After all of this. Talk about weak and stupid. That describes Biden perfectly - weak and stupid.

Oh man, as a kid I used to love when that song came on the radio. We all laughed and sang along. The bumper stickers with Mickey Mouse holding up a middle finger with the word "Iran" below it was on a lot of vehicle bumpers back then, and was perfectly paired with the Bomb Iran song.

Ya know, as depressing, concerning, and infuriating as the Iran hostage crisis was, I miss those times because the hostage crisis wasn't so much viewed as a political issue, but more as a national tragedy and outrage, and we were at least unified in our anger against Iran.

Back then we had a unified national identity and knew what it meant to be an American and the leadership that many countries turned to us for. We knew our role in the world, right from wrong... good from bad.

With each passing day, Iranian leadership proves itself not fit to exist on this planet. They are like Stone Age savages that have stumbled onto modern day weapons. If they ever produce or procure a nuclear device of any kind, they will try to deploy it in Israel. Hopefully Iran is as riddled with Israeli moles as I believe them to be that will unravel every plot against them and continue to deal with them accordingly.

I have mixed feelings about this. There are many occasions when we should have responded to Iranian aggression with overwhelming violence. Militarily, now would be a foolish time to do it. We have few assets in theater and they are all vulnerable to attack by Iranian militia groups & TBMs.

Yep. Iran is the 21st Century equivalent to Nazi Germany in the 1930's. Should have been dealt with as far back as 1979 the Carter lacked the balls.

For the readers, I strongly recommend Battlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World by H.R. McMaster. It covers much more than Iran, and it’s a clear and succinct description of the serial mistakes that have been made in dealing with such regimes for decades.

Funny how the media can so quickly report their suspicions that a crime might be perpetrated by a "right wing extremist" ... and yet when anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together and a drop of historical knowledge could reliably predict the profile of an attacker against Rushdie... and yet the media remains conspicuously silent when limiting their description of the attacker as "a man jumped on stage", and then goes on to mention Rushdie facing death threats for years.

===============

Excerpts from the article:

"Rabbi Charles Savenor was among the roughly 2,500 people in the audience. Amid gasps, spectators were ushered out of the outdoor amphitheater.

...

"Another spectator, Kathleen James, said the attacker was dressed in black, with a black mask. “We thought perhaps it was part of a stunt to show that there’s still a lot of controversy around this author. But it became evident in a few seconds” that it wasn’t, she said."

So , 2500 people in attendance, some at least must've known that there were decades of death threats levelled at the guest speaker, some that saw a man dressed in black with a black face mask...and neither the law enforcement officers guarding the guest speaker or the attendees noticed, thought to question, or at a minimum, heighten their situational threat alert to this peculiarity?

The mass complacency and lack of situational awareness demonstrated in this attack is dumbfounding.

Agreed. And don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to start fires over there if that’s the direction we decide to take. My hesitancy is that politically we have been unwilling to follow through with the level of violence required to decisively win any of our wars these past two decades. And if we aren’t fighting to win, we should not fight at all.

The Satanic Verses, for one.

I have a copy. I tried reading it. Couldn't get through the first chapter.

I have Christian friends from Lebanon who immigrated to the USA in their mid 20's. So they had experienced adulthood in the Mid East area. When the Ayatollah put the death order on Rushdie, they told me that if he lived be 120 years old there would still be Muslim fanatics hunting him. The sentence never ends and generally one of the "faithful" catches up to the victim at the right place and time. The hunters do not care if they are killed in the act as it is considered martyrdom with instant entrance to heaven. Considering the above, I am rather amazed Rushdie has survived this long.

The absolute best revenge that could be taken against Iran's mullahs and the fanatics that follow them would be for Satanic Verses to go right back up to the top of the best sellers list.
