My perspective is that Trump went from just another throw away pop culture creature with questionable morals and self discipline to one of the top three presidents in American history. He is a live example of how a person can rise to the calling; that in spite of our current station, there lies nascent greatness if we allow ourselves to be refined. It is no exaggeration to say that this president will one day be exceeded only by George Washington in his consequential role. And gentlemen/ladies, we get to witness it live. The the composition of the Supreme Court alone is evidence of that. Think of where it would be had the harpy won.

While not fixed on any one accomplishment, I have to say, slaying the Hildebeast is most appreciated.

And I hope the "Fad of Female" has soured on the vine for the foreseeable future.

Certainly there may come one day a worthy candidate and a tempered people who choose that, but we are not yet ready as a nation.

And I could not fathom having Livia Soprano squawking about for four years.

In a way it might have been a good thing that Biden stole the election. It exposed the rotten underbelly of Congress and the agencies and we needed that exposure to rally the MAGA movement.

I sure hope so! For tops in my lifetime I still would have to give Reagan props for his presidency.
I think with there being no concerns with a third term, Trump can take the gloves off say and do exactly what he thinks is right, and not worry about the naysayers or opposition.
I am further looking forward to a new era of conservative politics which hopefully lasts a very long time

Regarding a female president, we have see a good number of accomplished women appointed in high profile positions in the trump administration, so they may have potential to keep the train going too. ( with all the left whining about how racist and misogynistic Trump is, he sure did appoint a lot of capable women and non whites to positions in his administration)

And it provided Trump with 4 years to reflect on how politics works and prepare and temper his approach to a second term. I’m doubtful that, had he been installed as #46, he would have been as successful in that term as he is proving to be in this one.

I'm quite happy to admit my assessment of candidate Trump in 2015 was dead wrong.

I could not have been more wrong.

President Trump (45), I am starting to see, needed to lose the election in 2020 so that we'd have four years of DementoJoe, Cameltoe, and crew to fuck things up to a fare-thee-well.

Now, President Trump (47) has caused the cockroaches to come out into the light.

DOGE uncovered waste, fraud, and abuse on an unprecedented scale. Judges, media, politicians, billionaires, and more have all outed themselves as lunatics, and racists defending it.

I only hope he can smash those cockroaches flat really fast,then spread boric acid and DDT around to make sure to get those still in hiding.

I feel largely the same way. Trump was the first president that I enthusiastically voted for. I was truly excited to vote for him and for a Trump presidency.

Based upon my own personal foray into politics, I gladly admit that I was wrong about his chances in 2024. His performance in the first debate this time around made me feel excited about his chances again, and I enthusiastically voted for him in 2024. While he’s far from perfect, he’s done a hell of a job and I think his positive impacts will be felt for quite some time.

Consequential is an understatement.

DJT has completely changed not only the political landscape in America, but also the world dynamics (notice I didn't say politics) in ways none of us could have dreamed of.

I'm with Para, I originally thought him running was a publicity stunt and didn't take him seriously. How wrong I was!
