I thought about going outside to take a look, but our cameras have caught several night visitors this week, so I stayed inside. Not really anxious to have a conversation with a large black bear.

Went out at around 2:30 and not quite complete; still a small diamond glistening on the upper right side. An hour later it was clouded over.

Well, this is the best I was able to get out of my K5 and cheap 300mm lens. A lot more stars showed up in the long exposure than you could see with the naked eye (you could see some of them through binoculars), and I thought the varying colors were pretty cool.

That’s a great picture 92fstech. I tried to take one with my iPhone thinking it would come out like the pictures they show on the iPhone commercial. Not even close. I felt lucky to have seen it.

It was snowing last night. I could have died of frost bite.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I'm a dumb ass. I checked on google for the time of eclipse, 0235. Nah, not getting up. Nice clear sky too. Woke up around 0300 to turn the heaters on in the motor home since we had an unexpected freeze. Took a look up, still clear, moon was bright. I'm thinking, Crap, I'm up anyway and I missed it.

Woke up in the morning, checked my phone and read a text from my daughter around 2330, check out the lunar eclipse starting, it's awesome! Doh, must have been 0235 EASTERN time, 2335 here in WA.

Like I said, really should have chosen a different lens for this.
