Tonight and tomorrow night. Set to peak around 2am up here in WI/MN. That’s about the time I wake up in my recliner and crawl up to bed
Thin clouds hear now, I hope it clears up.

We actually have a really clear night here with a nice big full moon, I plan to go out and check it out. Got totally hosed by clouds for the big solar eclipse last year.

The weather clouds down here in South Louisiana do not look very promising if the weather guessers are correct. ......12pm CST clear skies and bright...... 130AM CST not visible with clouds. ................. 230 AM CST still not visible due to clouds. Guess have to wait till next time around.......................... drill sgt. This message has been edited. Last edited by: drill sgt,

We're planning to get the kids up and go look at it tonight. Weather is perfectly clear this evening... hopefully that holds.

I've seen a couple of them before so I'm not going to make a special effort to stay up. If the dog or my bladder wake me up at the right time AND the clouds clear off, then I'll get up and go watch.

Clear and cold here. Excellent viewing from my back yard. Should peak in a half hour. Tried waking my son, but he’s out cold.

Saw it at 2:20 AM (EDT), again at 3:05. I had to look around for a little bit to find it because it was very high, therefore small, in the sky, even smaller the second time. The second had a definite orange-y color to it.

We got the younger kids up and sat out there for a bit. Nice clear sky and a great view. I tried taking photos but I don't think they turned out. I'll play with them some in the morning. It was worth getting up for it, but I'm headed back to bed.

That did not disappoint. I went out about 10, crystal clear and the moon was so bright it was almost too bright to look at. Went back out at 1:45 and it was well into the eclipse. I was surprised at how small it looked.
Tried taking a picture with my iPhone which was pretty pathetic.

I went out at the supposed peak of it, but could just barely see the dark orange moon through the cloud cover... with more moving in ahead of severe weather this weekend. There will be a zero chance of seeing it tomorrow night...

I don't think mine came out good. I'm at work, in the middle of the port, so I had my camera just running, but I put a wiiiiide lens on, so the Moon is too small. Oh well, next year, I guess.

In Pittsburgh an astronomy event usually translates into heavy clouds. This morning was the rare exception. We got up to see a beautiful red moon. Very much worth the early get up.
Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

The missus set her alarm for 2:20 and the family unit went out just before totality. Very cool.

Well, this is the best I was able to get out of my K5 and cheap 300mm lens. A lot more stars showed up in the long exposure than you could see with the naked eye (you could see some of them through binoculars), and I thought the varying colors were pretty cool.

It was too cloudy around Birmingham metro, when I checked around 0230. Oh well.
