kramdenHow do you find out the charges of an UBER before you use it.
I have never used LYFT or UBER in my life . Know absolutely nothing about them. I will be flying into an airport and need a ride about 20 minutes away. Is there a way to find out the approximate cost?? Thanks.

tatortoddYou'll know price prior to accepting. In general, Lyft will be cheaper at rush hour.

bigdealYou can also go to the Uber (or Lyft) website and put in your departure and arrival points and it will provide you with an estimate of the charge.

sig77It will estimate in the app before you use it.

NismoSometimes the price fluctuates by the minute. In busy areas, I would recalculate the route a few times until I get a lower price.

bertoThe apps show you the price before you confirm the ride. If you’re a new account you should search online for a discount code to save a few bucks.

PerceptionDownload the app. Then you put in your destination and departure points, and it will tell you what vehicles are available and how much each will cost.
These prices do fluctuate considerably at times, so you won't know for sure until you actually confirm a ride.

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in." June 07, 2019, 08:58 AM
GeorgeairAlso take a moment to scroll/select other classes of ride. Sometimes a nicer ride is only a few dollars more, depending on availability. There's a marked difference in an UberX and the nicer/bigger cars in terms of comfort, space and usually drivers.....

ridgeratUse my Uber driver code to get a discounted first ride.

Enter the code in the app next to where you enter your credit card number.
Anyone can use this code, but note it is good for only your first ride.

WinoI use Uber and Lyft.
Check the price estimate for both and just choose the less expensive one. They are usually close but the variance can be significant.
Even with a generous tip, you're saving money over most traditional cabs.
