If the line is that long, it might be quicker to order a pizza and have it delivered... to the fast food parking lot!

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I typically don't wait in the drive-thru if there are more than 2-3 vehicles before me. If there are parking spaces available, I'll park and walk inside and place my order to-go.

Even at CFA, I seem to beat the cars in the drive-thru. It's almost become a game...I pay attention to which car I would have been behind, and look for them when I come out with my food.

No. I eat a protein bar and a pack of crackers mid afternoon. Crowds, time and $$ cost is not worth
eating anything else.

Give me more productive time and help keep my weight in check.

For three years we have seen 12 - 15 cars at the Chik-fil-a over in North Davenport.

And said to each other, " never going to happen".

A week ago there were nine cars in line a for no good reason, we went and got in line,
Eek

12: minutes later we were off to find a shady tree to eat our meal
Eek

Today we went back ,
There were 14 cars waiting
But!
They had five people outside taking orders, at a time!

We got through that giant line in seven minutes !

It's the most revolutionary thing we've seen since car hops in the sixties.
And !
AND?
Everything was very good.

So now we are down to
Culver's and Chik Fil A.

5 cars or more in the line and I go inside.
I despise fast food but sometimes that was all I could get while on patrol.

The Lords Chicken on the other hand, I will wait in the Line at the drive through. They have it handled and the line moves quickly.

There is a Bush’s Chicken here in centex and they do a good job. Not as good as CFA.

They don’t have Bojangles here in TX either, but the Mrs. likes Popeyes....mehhh

The line at the local CFA sometimes wraps around the building twice, but when it does there are 2 or 3 people outside taking the orders and payments and the line moves very quickly.

PSA FOR CFA

Chick Fil Eh, the trick is to get their app, complete your bio, put in a payment source for e-payment.

Then place your order via the app, connect to the store you want to use. When you arrive you notify them via app. Most have numbered parking places, you give them the number.

No waiting in line, and it's generally out very quickly. You can sit and watch the line...

I think a few other chains have this, Culvers does but the dipstick that owns the two by me hasn't signed the stores into that process...

15-20 cars no way. Under 10 probably. Just did my first fast food lunch in a month (Wendys) and it was 8 cars deep. Lunch was good so it was worth it.

Three cars in the single line in front of me is the limit. Five if it is a double line.

If its White Castle, the limit is two cars.

Seriously. I have no idea how it takes so damn long to cook those little gut bombs but anymore than two cars and you are screwed

We generally do drive thru FF about once a week, normally for dinner on Fridays.

I specifically try to be in the line NLT 4:30. The line is generally only a few cars then. 15-20 minutes later? Yep, about out onto the road.

And when we do get held up and in line around 5ish, we are inevitably stuck behind about 6 minivans with 'specialty' orders for 5+ child occupants Roll Eyes 'Yeah, hi...I need 4 cheese burgers...two without ketchup, one of those with mustard, 3 with extra mayo, 2 without pickles, then an order of nuggets...and a chicken sandwich...' Mom wants the half chicken salad with the dressing on the side and no tomatoes... Roll Eyes

I HATE going to lunch at 1200 o'clock. If you want me to meet you for lunch, 1130ish is strongly preferred. Same thing for dinner...I much prefer to show up 20 minutes before the 'rush.'

There is one very popular burger place in our town that is strictly drive thru. It almost always has a lengthy line (but its usually worth it.)

Nope. In fact I just pulled into a BK yesterday and saw the line wrapped around the building. At least a dozen cars. The dining room was closed so I couldn’t go inside so I just left. I’d rather skip lunch than wait that long for food I don’t really want.

And yes I know I shouldn’t eat fast food at all but I travel for work, sometimes multiple cities in a week, so it’s hard to have stuff on hand to prepare my own lunches. Though I do find that a lot of gas stations are stocking better options than the old roller grill hotdogs and microwave burritos. It’s pretty easy to find fresh(ish) cold-cut sandwiches and a thing of carrots or celery. I try to stop and get those as much as possible.

Since the Covid crap the closest Chick fil A to me is 45 minutes away in Erie, PA. and they have a superb set up. Three lanes around the building, going down into two. People taking orders and accepting payment outside.

Last Saturday I was out there, at least 30 cars in line and it took about 20 minutes to get my spicy Chicken Deluxe. I was impressed!!

Chick-fil-A is the only fast food place that I will go to when there is a line. Ours always has 2 staffers working the double lanes. They move you through quick. The mobile app tip is another winner. Order from your phone, park and enter the parking spot number. A smiling face will bring the food out to you.

Chic Fil A primarily, but they’re a proven quantity-quality, and staff appropriately. Most other times our fast food is dinner time and the number of cars in line is less of concern.
Right now Whataburger has Dr Pepper milkshakes, that becomes a factor Cool!

I only do McD's, and then usually only a coke or frappe. Order on the app, and if there's more than 1-2 cars I pick it up inside. Also to use the restroom. Believe it or not, in NC and SC there are still some that you can't go inside at all, some that you can go in but not eat in, and some of those that you can't even use the bathroom.
